According to reports Nigerian coach, Stephen Keshi, who less than 24 hours ago, led the Super Eagles to victory in the Africa Cup of Nations, has resigned as coach of the national team.
According to SuperSport presenter, Robert Marawa, who revealed the information on Twitter, 'The Big Boss' confirmed his departure from the post, in an interview with a radio station in South Africa.
The Nigerian coach has submitted his resignation to the Nigerian Football Federation, after a dramatic falling out with the federation.
He tweeted: "stephen Keshi has just announced that he handed over his resignation letter after the game exclusively on 083Sport@6With Marawa on MetroFM".
Keshi had claimed on Metro FM that “he heard about the arrangement made by the NFF after the Mali game, and that he did not want to take it to mind as it would have affected his teams preparations.”
Goal.com also said that the Super Eagles handler had informed it few days before the final, that he would ‘pack his bags and leave’ if he felt he was not wanted.
Meanwhile, Keshi’s resignation letter still has to be discussed by the NFF. However, the coach says he is unlikely to change his mind, because he believes that NFF did not trust and respect his tactics as a coach.
The Nigeria Football Federation is yet to confirm this development, even as the team and officials are expected back in the country, where they will be received by President Goodluck Jonathan. Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday

There is no iota of truth in this story why not verify properly before publishing such an outrageous rumour
ReplyDeleteIf this is true,he is sending a powerful message to the Federation.sequel to his earlier one in dedicating the trophy to Indigenous coaches, held in derision by the Federation, which with their ilk, have been shamed. Some of the officials there ought to be booted out;a horde of corrupt saboteurs.
ReplyDeleteI think it is the NFF that should be investigated to weed out those who hinder football development in the country - AJ
ReplyDeleteWhy should resignation be the next thing for Keshi after this remarkable achievement and enviable record? iIs this his ploy to himself look expensive and indispensable? Why should someone because of a hearsay destroy the house he has laboured to build? I hope this is not a handiwork of witches in his family. Keshi should have a rethink or he should go if he insists, he should know that the trophy was noy his making alone and even if it was acworld cup he won Keshi should knowctgat 'Nigerians don't send' -Biodunsavage
ReplyDeleteNFF most of them are still not happy abt our indigenous coach. They prefer to invite a foreigner where they will have their own percentage. No smoke without fire.Keshi cnt just say he s resigning without a concrete reason.NFF officials should be thoroughly investigated
