AFCON Final will be aired live on local stations - BON

The Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria (BON) has confirmed that Nigerians will be able to watch the final match of the 2013 African Cup of Nations, (AFCON) between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and the Stallions of Burkina Faso on Sunday.

The match will be aired live on local stations, the regulatory body confirmed.

BON now has an agreement with the Confederation of African Football and Broadcast Rights owners of the African Cup of Nations, AFCON 2013.

Nigerian football fans have been unable to watch live matches in the on-going Nations Cup on local television stations as a result of the disagreement between BON and the TV right owners for the tournament over the amount to be paid by Nigeria for the broadcast rights.

Television broadcasters in Nigeria refused to pay the sum of N1.4Billion bill demanded by the French company that had bought the rights to the tournament from CAF.

The new deal will avail millions of Nigerians the see the final match of AFCON 2013 in the comfort of their homes.
