On the way to an ECOWAS meeting in the
Ivory Coast, President Goodluck Jonathan’s plane was diverted to Lagos
where he made a surprise visit to the police college in Ikeja.
Sources say that even his top aides were taken unaware by the unscheduled stop.
The police authorities were also caught unawares and had in fact rented the college to host a private wedding, which is illegal.
President Jonathan demanded that the top brass explain these actions to which they had no sufficient answers.
Upon hearing this the President immediately commenced an inspection of the college, starting with the student hostels where he discovered dilapidated conditions including no beds and toilets in the rooms.
President Jonathan movedfrom hostel from hostel on his inspection of the college.

Was BRF not in town on that day? I expected to see him with the President if he was in town. This type of unscheduled visits is necessary to put every government agencies or organisations on its toes. A planned visit allows them to put up a fake appearance which does not reveal the true situation of things. KJoe

ReplyDeleteWell done!unscheduled visits are the best! How can anybody live this conditions!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat difference does it make? What is the duty of the Ministry of Police Affairs. A ministry that does not know the conditions of the Police Colleges in the country. Thanks to Channels T.V initiative!
ReplyDeleteIf only Mr President will rely less on his aides and ministers,DGs and emback on unschedule visits like this then the transformation agenda will work. We pray God to give Mr President the grace to pursue this vision without fear or favour.
