Another breakthrough came the way of security agents in their confrontation with members of the dreaded Jamaatu Ahlil Sunna Lidawati wal Jihad, otherwise known as Boko Haram, with the arrest of one of the sect’s suspected leaders, Hassan Pagi BUKAR, in the residence of a 2003-2007 member of the House of Representatives (names withheld).
The Boko Haram alleged leader was, according to sources, arrested along with the security guard of the erstwhile lawmaker.
Although the one-time member of the House of Reps was said to have been briefly arrested and interrogated, he has since been a daily guest of the security agency that effected the arrest.
The arrest was reportedly made in the Gwarimpa area of the Federal Capital territory, FCT, Abuja.
Sunday Vanguard learnt, last night, that the arrest and interrogation of Bukar had started yielding results.
For instance, the suspect reportedly disclosed, upon interrogation, that his brief as a sect member was to “carry out robbery activities by dispossessing members of the public of their cars”.
The security guard in the former House of the Reps member’s residence (who was described as a mere gateman) was said to have been “employed from Sokoto”.
During further interrogation of Bukar, Sunday Vanguard was made to understand that the suspect disclosed that the cars used for suicide bombings by the sect were stolen vehicles.
One of the very indicting statements of Bukar, the source said, “was that he implicated the former Rep by saying that he also buys some of the cars from him (Bukar) when they are stolen.

ReplyDeleteGood! But please arrest the Sect's sponsors as well. I think if the sponsors are picked up, Boko Haram will be history.
ReplyDeleteWe need to put news reports in the correct perspective. We need to be thankful for little mercies. We should appreciate our security men when they record little successes. Remember these field men in our prayers, they risk their lives for our safety.
ReplyDeleteIt is a different thing when the upper echelons of the Jonathan administration refuse to prosecute. That cannot be their fault. I am sure a security report on this and more detail than we are reading will be on Jonathan and his Deputy's desks. Just as the case of EFCC arresting the subsidy theives and the Babalakins of this world and nothing happens subsequently. You cannot blame Lamorde's EFCC for that. It is left for Jonathan to encourage them to prosecute to the fullest extent permissible under the Nigerian laws, irrespective of whose political are stepped on in the process. Trust Baba Iyabo to match on heads if necessary in a case like this. The Presidency is bigger than the Ruling Party in a presidential system. In fact, he is the leader of the party. ALL, PRAY FOR THIS SLEEPING JONA.
TNX TO OUR FIELD MEN.EVRY THING MUST NOT BE EXPOSED FOR SECURITY PURPOSE.
ReplyDeleteHmmmmm Today in all churces our great countru Nigeria was prayed for. Our priest prayed for all aspects of d problems of pur country ie boko haram, corriptiom, our economy etc. He challenged us to look within ourselves and start d positive changes. I use this medium to implore us all to decide to have positive outlook regarding the problems of our great country-let us be more patrotic and think what we can do for our country and not what our country can do for us. God hears d cry of d poor - anonymous
ReplyDeleteI continue to pray for our security agents. I beleive if other segment of the gorverment put half the effort of our security, Nigeria will be a heaven on earth.
ReplyDeleteGovernment should move fast in attending to the successes of our security agences. Donot spare those killing Nigeria.
ReplyDeleteSome people keep asking, how many leaders did boko haram have? But they fail to understand that dis inhuman, dis dreaded animals, dis coward idiots and dis good for nothing devils who claim to be human beings living among people have many members as possible, so they can easily produce another idiot for him to act as leaders once the former one has been captured. So I think the JTF should be handsomely rewarded by de Federal Government and the very state where capture took place!!
