Why Nigerians think I’m slow – President Jonathan

President Goodluck Jonathan Tuesday explained why most Nigerians believed that his administration was slow in implementing and responding to some of the people-oriented policies and projects of the government.

Accoring to him, this was because of his resolve to avoid taking hasty decisions that may be fraught with mistakes and which might be more difficult to correct.
The president who stated this during the Christmas Day service at the Diocese of Abuja Anglican Communion, the Cathedral Church of the Advent Life Camp, Gwarinpa, Abuja added that the foundation being laid for infrastructural development would stand the test of time.

According to the president, “By human thinking, our administration is slow, I won’t say we are slow but we need to think through things properly if we are to make lasting impact. If we rush we will make mistakes and sometimes it is more difficult to correct those mistakes.

“I want to assure Nigerians that any step we take whether little or giant, we won’t go back. And where we need to act fast we will do so, that we demonstrated with the flood disaster because it required immediate response.
“Democracy must be dictated by ballot papers and I think we have achieved that with electoral reform. We will not go back but will continue to improve.
“For our transformation to be sustained we Nigerians must be reformed. We must not see our country as where we make money only and build walls and live as prisoners because of the criminal activities of few” he said.
The president who was accompanied to the church service by his family members reiterated that his administration is committed and will keep faith with its promises.
“At least what we are doing in agriculture, transportation and power has been noted by the Primate. We have laid solid foundation for power, agriculture and transport sectors and I can assure you we will not go back again.
The President also underscored the need for re-orientation in the country, noting that a situation where some criminal minded Nigerians vandalise government properties to sabotage government’s effort must be condemned as such actions are tantamount to the transformation plan of the government.
“People play politics with things that affect even their own lives. You wonder why a person that carries saw to go and cut down a conductor carrying cables that produce electricity, because you want a government to fail. This happened somewhere in Enugu. You begin to wonder if they are humans. That is why we need to reform if we must transform” he said.
While emphasising the crucial role of the church in mobilising support for government, the president said; “The church has a great role to play if the transformation must succeed because you can’t transform without reformation and is the role of the church to do so.
“I urge the church to come up with various programmes to talk about how we Nigerians can be reform.”

  2. Is this man serious? Please recount the policies u n ur govt thought thru prior to implementation to the benefit of Nigerians. Lemme help u, removal of fuel subsidy, changing unilag to MAU, new compulsory PHCN tarrif, handling corrupt cases-otedola/ Farouk, oil subsidy scammers etc with kid gloves, etc

You demanded an overhaul of the petroleum sector, had heads of depts changed but left dieziani. Is that what u call an overhaul. Recall what happened when Dana airline went down. The head of the Nigerian aviation authority was asked to leave. There are many other instances of ur govt condoning corruption and u want us to see sense in all these ur semantics.

Love and trust are won by words and actions. The illiterate grandma doesn't understand your words. She would understand when she can afford her kerosene without tears, mr I had no shoes.

  4. Hai! Hai!! Hai!!! You know what?, your doctorate is a big questionable??, even your name is also questionable??? When Nigerians thought they have seen a messiah I have no shoe that will wipe away their sorrows but rather he sneer the lives of Nigerians and then inflect them with more pains upon pains. See how the internationals have also rated your transformation, Dame is widening the irreversible hole you have dug for yourself and your entire aides and executives are ready to push you in. Though a completely lost dog does no longer hear the hunter’s whistle blow. No wonder even the remained Nigerian lighting system of education, religion and council of elders have been turned to be rearing out criminals of all kinds. All mushrooming out with all sorts of certificate of varying miscreants minds, societal nuisance and menace even many also flew out at our financial detriment to learn more ideas that originally was meant for good but because of that blood they only criminalize such ideas. What is more humiliating than this? Oh yes Achebe said things fall apart, Idris said jaga jaga, A famous novelist said the gods are not to be blamed and Soyinka said with such poverty trend many will start eating from the dustbin. And the transformer man said they are doing well meticulously about it to avoid mistakes, please who can define this man better yet he said he has no business with poverty but yet he started with no shoe. He was in church defending himself and explaining how there was a gun shot at a cable, oh may be that was what rocket fire the pump price from 65 that Nigerians are only managing to survive with to an endless heartless of hopeless price, and many will return home from church without what to eat. You are just looking for baseless excuses that cannot hold. This man really needs transformation and deliverance of himself first as well designed at, the reforming the unreformable. If you continue like this you are indeed drowning in a consuming pool of fire of no return as dug by you.

No, they are serious minded people who knows what the Country deserves, when and how to give her what she deserves. Go and talk to your president and stop peddling lies as work.
