President Goodluck Jonathan has restated his promise to transform the country, pleading with Nigerians to trust his administration.
In his Christmas goodwill message on Monday, Jonathan said Nigerians should not entertain any doubt about his political will and determination to improve their living conditions.
He said, “As we celebrate Christmas, the ultimate significance of which is the fulfilment of God’s promise of a Saviour for mankind, I urge you all to continue to trust in our unwavering commitment to fully achieve the objectives of our Agenda for National Transformation for the benefit of all Nigerians.
“No one should doubt that we have the political will and determination to deliver on our promise of positive changes in the living conditions of our people in the shortest possible time.”
The President said, despite the “distractions” posed by the security challenges in parts of the country, his administration remained committed to improving in priority areas such as roads, public infrastructure, power supply, agriculture, health, education and job creation.
He said, “It is my hope and expectation that more of the efforts, actions and measures we are already undertaking in these areas will successfully come to fruition next year and make the results of the diligent project planning and execution being done under this administration more apparent to all Nigerians.”
He urged Nigerians to learn from the significant lessons of Christmas.
Jonathan said, “Christmas and the lessons of Jesus Christ’s mission on earth have great significance for us as a people and there can be no doubt that we all, irrespective of our religious beliefs, can draw immense strength and inspiration from the Messiah’s enduring personification of selflessness, dedication to duty, and commitment to the well-being of others.”
His wife, Patience, called on Nigerians, particularly Christians, to continue to pray for peace and development of the country.
She urged Nigerians to demonstrate the spirit of charity and brotherliness by sharing with the less privileged during Christmas season.

you want us to trust you, give us something to make us trust you. Jesus met people at their points of needs and they trusted him more. it ain't rocket science.
Abegi! Abegi!! Abegi!!! who will advise this man. Nigerians(the masses and youths) do not in any way need your so call transformation again. Nigerians will do appreciate if you at-least return things to where they were as you met it. Most especially the pump price of petroleum products even if you cannot do more again. Because this is the first point you can touch the larger poor and middle class of Nigerians. Most Critically you cannot governed the deaths all resulting from your ravaging transformation on the good innocent people of Nigerians.
