Pastor Tunde Bakare’s Son Slaps NYSC Commandant In Camp

According to sources, ‘coloured trousers had been banned within the Nysc camp and the camp commandant spotted Pastor Tunde Bakare’s son, Segun Bakare in black trousers.

When apprehended, the lad asked the commandant if he didn’t know he was the son of Tunde Bakare, the popular preacher. The commandant immediately delivered a slap on the face of the young man and Segun replied with his own slap.

Segun’s mum had given the commandant a number to call when she dropped off her son in camp, so immediately this incident occurred, the commandant called Mrs Bakare and after a few words, the phone was handed to Pastor Tunde Bakare himself.

After hearing what had happened, Pastor Bakare asked that his son be disciplined for disobeying camp rules.

The phone was on speaker and Segun heard his father’s instructions and as soon as the phone call ended, he went down on his knees and started begging.

The matter has since been resolved.

  9. Let's assumed that the father is not a known pastor in the country, what would you have done to him. Is he not going to be punish just like others in the camp? Standard operating procedures is being tampered. The Commandant need to be called for questioning.

  18. Segun Bakare doesnt have to be a good boy because his father is a pastor, though he ought to be, however his decisions are his.

But clearly, the father, Pastor Tunde Bakare has proved to be a disciplined man and will not tolerate indiscipline in whatever form. Not even from his Son!

  20. I'm not sure the man is truly a military man not to talk of being a camp commandant, let me tell you the truth, if it happens to me as a military man, the stupid boy will regret the day he was born.

  21. Kayode, I am sure you are one of those that talk against uniformed men over reacting to issues because of the power of uniform we all pay for. Well, I think the man in the first place ought not to have slapped the boy but on the other hand kudos to him for showing strenght to control his anger. The story we have read maybe different if not for his strenght.

  22. Most of these recruit guys that even find it hard to construct an error free english sentence have no sense of regard for the knowledge they could not wait to acquire preceed their enrolment in army. Once u ar not in their uniform, regardless of ur age, academic status and the rest, they believe that anyone can be rough-handled. I dont support rudeness but u use the weapon u have when u get to the cross road. Idiot he wants to earn public appraise by giving someone else public disgrace But the story backfire!

  23. I agree that the commandant is a civilian in military uniform, lacking the maturity, discipline, patience and comportment of a brig gen. A well trained gen would have ordered a junior officer to handle the young lad in whatever appropriate punishment he deserves for breaking camp rules. The exhibition of brute force by the gen which led to two-fighting between a corper and a gen, did not only show poor leadership on the part of the civilian gen but was a disgrace to the army. Such a fight, started by the gen, is regarded as personal contact which is prohibited in the military.

I salute pastor Bakare for being on the side of the law and not shielding his son but the gen should be relieved of his post because his act portrays an inherent propensity for misuse of authority which should not be passed on to our future leaders.

  25. Blessing Botu, your comment is derogatory you don't sound like someone who is intelligent. What do you mean by like father like son? When did pastor Bakare slapped your father?

  26. Guys have we really read the story critically? How many of you guys your parents had to follow you to camp,to the point of dropping their number. The reporter how did he/she know that Segun's mother drop her number.
I can go on and on to proof that all what on the news are pure fabrication of liessponsored by PDP to discredit Pastor Tunde Bakare.Segun has the fear of GOD, humble, respectful, friendly,ETC.
GUYS DONT BELIEVE THAT STORY,RATHER THE PAID NEWS CARRIERS SHOULD FOCUS ON THE DEPLORABLE CONDITION OF THE ORIENTATION CAMP.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Why did Segun's mother leave her phone number with the commandant in the first place? Was she looking for preferential treatment for her son? And why must the commandant call the mother in such circumstance? Was he to take orders from them to punish the corp member appropriately? Is the commandant answerable to Nigeria or Segun's family? What a shame to a commandant!!!
