Nigerian professor of urology, Hyacinth Nong Mbibu has been shot dead by gunmen on motor-cycle, in Zaria, Kaduna state.
Mbibu, from Takum in Taraba state has been a visiting urologist at the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Shika, Zaria, since 2008.
According to reports, he was on his way home Thursday night after attending to patients at the hospital when the gunmen, who were on a motorcycle, attacked him.
They also shot a nurse who was in his car but she survived the murder attempt. She was immediately rushed to the hospital.The incident happpend at about 8 p.m Premium Times reported.
Mbibu except for a year’s stint at Ibrahim Babangida Hospita in Minna, had spent the past 20 years at ABU’s urology department.

ReplyDeletePls let police investigate staff of that hospital for complicity. Medical Doctors are becoming very dangerous this days and they operate like a cult in most Govt Medical agencies. They are mostly dare devil and ppl are beginning to beware of them. They kill themselves easily at the slightest provocation especially due to leadership tussle and clash of interest. Just last year a brilliant friend of mine who was a young medical doctor from Kogi State working in this same hospital in Zaria was assasinated in cold blood on his way home from work with his wife in thesame vehicle. The wife however survived the attack. I have the conviction that there are some evil minded brats in that hospital who will never want anyone to excel. God will however judge them and pay them back in their own coin.
