(Reuters) - The governor of Nigeria's Kaduna state, Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa, was killed on Saturday when his helicopter crashed in the southerly oil-producing Bayelsa state, an aide to the politician told Reuters.

Bayelsa police spokesman Fidelis Odunna confirmed a helicopter had crashed in Ogbia Creek but gave no details of who was on board or any casualties.

An aide to Yakowa who asked not to be named said Yakowa had been killed in the crash.

Nigeria's 36 state governors are among the most powerful politicians in Africa's biggest oil producer, often controlling budgets bigger than other African countries.

Local residents said several high-profile politicians had traveled to Bayelsa, President Goodluck Jonathan's home state, this weekend for a funeral. Jonathan was not in Bayelsa at the time of the crash, the presidency said.
Former national Security Adviser and 2 Others were also said to be on board

  16. Why are these myopic α̲̅πϑ short sighted demons attributing †ђξ crash to †ђξ northerners? Is dat †ђξ best way to vent your anger? God gives life when He wish α̲̅πϑ He takes it when He wish. When, how or where one will die is a knowledge hidden and it is not revealed to anyone? So why †ђξ hysteria? Hey! Grow up! Nothing last forever, stop blaming people for an unavoidable mishap. Death is hanging on everyone's neck! Stop wasting †ђξ remaining part of your life throwing accusations at people. Do something to better your tomorrow and quit fuelling misunderstanding among people. If you like rule †ђξ whole world one day you must surely die α̲̅πϑ you must account for all you've done while alive...! Where is Pharoah today? As if he never existed. A word is enough for †ђξ wise. RIP to †ђξ departed souls.

  18. I have said it time without number that each and everyone of us should always check our source of income .

It is important if you want to die peacefully .

How can you and your family be enjoying at the expense of poor Nigerians .

Some of the Chinese prostitute arrested in Lagos confess that there major customers are politician ( $1000 to $2000 per night ).

Now tell me , do you think nemesis will not catch up with them .

However , i m not attributing their death to my aforementioned point,

just advice for remaining people that are involving in inflicting problem to the life of average and poor Nigeria by corruption ( directly or indirectly ).

Just wait and see , how God we deal with ...
