Chairman Globacom, Dr. Mike Adenuga Jnr, on Tuesday donated N500m to support the post flood disaster management efforts in Bayelsa State.
The Governor of the state, Mr. Seriake Dickson, said a draft cheque of the amount was presented to him by Adenuga in Abuja.
Dickson, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Daniel Iworiso-Markson, said he led a delegation from the state to the residence of Adenuga, where he received the cheque.
The governor quoted Adenuga as saying that he was touched by the plight of the flood victims.
Adenuga, according to the governor, said his contribution was aimed at complementing the efforts of the government in managing the crisis.
Dickson showered praises on the Globacom boss over his generosity and assured him that the money would be used judiciously.
“The money will be judiciously used along with other donations received from public spirited individuals, corporate bodies, donor agencies both locally and internationally,” the governor said.
Dickson also said he had set up a committee on Post Flood Management headed by the former National Security Adviser, Gen. Andrew Azazi(retd.), to ensure proper utilisation of relief materials.
Also, indigenous company, Pan Ocean Oil Nigeria Limited, on Tuesday, donated relief materials worth millions of naira to victims of recent flood in Edo State.
Pan Ocean’s Assistant General Manager, External Relations, Mrs. Edith Okujagu, presented the material on behalf of the NNPC/Pan Ocean Joint Venture, to representatives of the Edo State Government.

Is it only Bayelsa that was flooded or is it because Mr. president is from there?
