Pastor nawawooooo
ReplyDeleteNot everyone that preach is a pastor
ReplyDeletePerhaps, he was not getting enough tithes and contribution from crusades and prophesy. Learn from those who have been able to acquire aeroplanes from the profession.
ReplyDeleteIf the word 'pastor' has any meaning for us, we need to consider what type of pastor he is. This story cannot have credibility unless more is said of his pastoral life. The writer is being cynical by obscurantism. Simply put, he has an axe to grind with people who are called pastors. Such aberrant behavior is strange for a pastor, and when it happens, the writer should make a stronger case of it by giving details of his church. The writer should also get interviews from the church leadership and the congregation to know how they feel about it. The story lacks substance, and should be treated as (forgive the choice of words) TRASH.
ReplyDeleteThat was definitely not the entire story..... Naija journalists sef
ReplyDeleteTHE TITTLE IS MISLEADING BECAUSE THE MAN IN QUESTION IS NOT REFERED TO AS A PASTOR IN THE BODY OF THE STORY.
ReplyDeleteOga Austen, you love highfalutin expressions. An obscurantist is one who is opposed to new ideas: opposing or hindering the spread of new ideas and new social or political developments.
ReplyDeleteIs Christianity a NEW idea?
@Safari: Thanks, but no thanks to your attempt at teaching me a literary term. Your definition is correct, but you should have read the second meaning in the same dictionary you obviously checked up on. According to Merriam-Webster Collegiate Dictionary, OBSCURANTISM is (a) a style (as in literature or art) characterized by deliberate vagueness or abstruseness. (b) an act or instance of obscurantism. The person who does so is an obscurantist. First use:1834 how did it pertain to the matter at hand, one may ask? Well, it is a matter of giving a dog a bad name in order to hang him. In the story, there was a deliberate slanting aimed at smearing mud on people who are pastors. Although some call themselves pastors (as titles) and do not live the life, the title denotes more positive than negative connotation. That is the meat of my comment above. @Safari: Please note my rejoinder is not aimed at wrangling or throwing challenges, but please acknowledge that my usage was impeccable and not as a result of loving jawbreakers as you insinuated. My Bro, na English I dey take dey chop for where I dey. God bless.
ReplyDeleteGod bless you too bros.
ReplyDeleteWarmest regards to you and yours.
