Late arrival of materials in ward 5 units 7, 9, 10.
Barrister Akeredolu of the ACN was defeated to a third place by the Labour Party and the People's Democratic Party (PDP).

In Akure
Gunmen seize voting materials in Akure.
Unknown suspected political thugs on Saturday seized voting materials from Odopetu Ward 7 in Akure, the Ondo State capital, as accreditation for the state governorship election got under way.
An observer with the Twitter handle @newsbytesnow said in a tweet to INEC that the gunmen took the materials away.


Ondo West
Thugs allegedly snatched four ballot boxes in Ondo West Ward 8 Unit 17; Ward 10 Unit 5; Ward 2 Ilajde; Ilaje Unit 16 ; and Main Ward 1 Obebe.
A man identified as Bola Osun was arrested by the Yaba Police Division in Unit 23, Ward 7, Ondo West Local Government Area of Ondo State for allegedly impersonating as a legitimate voter during the Ondo governorship election

Idanre LG
Violence has been reported in Idanre town in Ondo State while thugs are said to be snatching ballot boxes in some parts of the state as the governorship election got under way in the state.

Action Congress of Nigeria spokesman, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said in a statement that inadequate security in Idanre had given thugs adequate space to attack voters and snatch ballot boxes.

The party therefore called on the security agencies and the Independent National Electoral Commission to urgently beef up security in the town

Accreditation was orderly. Turnout impressive. Politicians excited praising INEC for preparation. Example, Prominent politician Clement Faboyede expressed total satisfaction with the performance of INEC.

Large turnout of voters. Tight security. International observers are seen monitoring the election.
It was alleged that some politicians were sending bulk SMS around talking of some alliances among parties, in apparent determination to confuse voters.
