  1. Whao! A great lesson indeed! How I wished he told them his plans to phase them off during his campaign! I'm sure he's fully aware of that but with the number of casualities on a daily basis, he's left with no other choice than to limit their activities. What if he has completely stopped them from operating in the whole of Lagos? I think he's being considerate!

  2. there is a yoruba proverb that says,'they are saving chicken frm death, it is saying they did not allow it to go the dump site to eat". Fashola meant well for us by restricing their movement to 'not too busy roads'. Okada riders are terrible people. It is bcos most of us hv not been involved in their accident, that's why we are condeming Fashola. God bless Lagos.

  4. Even if Fashola as a person meanlt well for Lagosians restricting the movement of Okakda frm sum major road, our Nigerian police have make the siultation worsen just for their own selfish interest! Arresting the poor Okada people even without going to this restricted road. Ma question is wot dey right of this people or does it means that the poor as no right to move freely or express their selve even as they are beening oppress by their ruler or law enforcement? Are our police men sopost to use any influence to soppress any citizen? So wot ever be the case BRT is the cause of it!

  5. lagosians you guys should relax , when okoda was banned in Calabar we faced the same challenges but today we are use to it . Our Governors have our interest @ heart .

  9. You guys with negative comment need to understand the governor. He is not against the use of okada, but their recklessness. Most pple riding okada on our roads are from Niger(outside country), they don't even understand English and traffic signs and that has sent a lot of pple to early graves. He didn't barn them from riding but restricted them from dangerous high ways!

  10. Fashola is just a politician. Politicians use you when it is necessary and dump you after their goals have been achieved. But let keep sentiment apart , the ban on okada by Lagos gov is in the interest of the people. I remember what happended in Abia 2009 when T.A Orji governor of the state made the same law peopl were mad at him but today l can tell u , the ban on okada is one of good things that have happened to the state. It rendered traditional bone menders jobless as their flurishing business crumbled over night, many skillful youths that abondoned their trade for quick money went back to thier various professions and they are doing well today living larger than when they were okada riders .so okada riders here in lagos should not grumble much , let them endure it and go back to their vocations , sooner this ban will be a blessing to them and their families even to all of us.

  11. Fashola has done the right thing by restricting Okadas to certain areas pleas! Lagosians will adjust with time, & eventually come to appreciate this law. Check out every city/town where okada has been banned, or operations restricted, & you'll see an instant drop in crime, and fatal/permanently disabling accidents. You had a situation where young boys moved directly frm shoe shining to riding Okadas, often in a very reckless manner. They knew nothing of the Highway Code, often riding against traffic, on sidewalks, weaving in & out of traffic, all such misdemeanor. Nigerians tend to, at first impulse, to say they'll go into robbery as a means of survival. Hogwash! What were they doing b4. Anyone who goes into robbery to survive was already criminally minded. Any serious person will find an alternative no, or low skilled means of livelihood. Never mind folks, the suffering of commuters will be temporary. Business people will fill in the gap soon by investing in other decent means of transport, as happened in Calabar, Uyo(the former okada capital), Enugu, etc.

  12. All polticians are of the same calibre, never trust anyone, even if he is ur brother. They use u when u are important, they discard u when their aim is achieved.

  13. Okada is a societal misnormal. No orderly society will allow the kind of lawlessness we see with Okada riders everyday. A total ban will eventually happen.

  14. Fashola got the highest number of votes that made him become the governor of this state from OKADA RIDERS. Although what he is doing is gud but he ought to ave told them diz during his electioneering campaign, when diz pple were doing RiDErs of different types 4 him. God will deliver us 4rm the hands of our bad leaders. WE WILL WAIT FOR THEM TILL 2015 WHEN THEY WILL COME AND BEG US FOR VOTES

  15. This is cheap and stupid propaganda against Fashola and ACN. He banned Okada for their own good cos they are reckless and die like flies daily

  16. I laugh in chinko. The this restriction is actually a spiritusl consequence for their wickedness. Total ban is iminnent.

  17. Ignorant fools.... Anyone who's against the restrictions is a big time fool. Enough said. From where I come from Safety is first and that's exactly what Fashola is mindful of. God bless Nigeria

  22. You people should shot up your mouth. The question i want to ask is this? did Fashola government put any structure in place like more vehicles or creating separate road for the okadas'? like our neighboring country South Africa? or is it this hard time when there is no job instead of his government making things to happened? is banning okada does he know the side effect on transportation this has caused the people? or is it not the same okada people that voted him in? why is he imposing the so call wicked law on the poor masses when we are not ripe for all these law, i know he meant good for Lagosians but we have not attain that level because, majority of graduate who has no job are using this same okada to feed their family he should have look beyond this for a better alternative for okada riders instead of banning them? if i may asked? what can Lagostians' pointed to that Fashola has done apart from planting flowers and reconstructing under bridges, did the present government make means for his people to survive in this hardship time? pls he should pocket his so called law, i bet with you ACN will loose this time around, i am neither politicians nor siding one party or the other? but ACN and Fashola has stepped on people's toe, most people have moved out of Lagos City to the village because of Fashola and his law, that BRT lane should have been given to Okada instead of BRT because i can not feel the side effect of the so called BRT, government should tell me how they are eradicating poverty in this country? or is it by frustrating the poor ones'? as for me the government knows what to do but they are shying away from it rather they will pocket all the revenue generated and use to force themselves into power in the next election, I beg Fashola should redeem his image otherwise i sense failure on the party. The people supporting him is because they are eating three square meal a day go out there and see how people are suffering, let the government put their heads together to know the way forward
