Gunmen last night bombed a patrol van of the Joint Task Force (JTF) at Yindiski Ward, along Gashua road in Potiskum Local Government Area of Yobe State.
Daily Trust gathered that two vehicles were coming out from Potiskum Prison area of Yindiski when the last vehicle was targeted and bombed
"I was at Gashua motor park when a thunderous sound rented the air with thick smoke. I saw a military patrol vehicle burning and shooting continue. People were running helter skelter, that was how I rushed back to my friend's house", a witness said.
Another source said that the JTF vehicle was carrying about eight armed soldiers when the attack was launched.
He further revealed that he saw men of the JTF in about five vehicles advancing towards the scene.
When contacted, Yobe State Police Commissioner Patrick Egbuniwe simply said: "We just received signal that there was a bomb explosion in Potiskum, and we sent our men to find out what happened"
