Exactly 4 months after the ill-fated Dana plane crash crashed at Iju-Ishaga area of Lagos killing 163 people, Dana Air is back in business, as on Wednesday the airline began its test flight in preparation for resumption of scheduled passengers’ flight operations.
The test flight will be followed by a demonstration flight.
Reporters witnessed the test flight that took off from the domestic wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport Lagos around 4:00pm.
When contacted, the Spokesman for Dana Airlines, Mr. Tony Usidamen, confirmed that after Wednesday’s test flight, demonstration flight will commence very soon as that would finally lead to schedule commercial flight operation.
According to him, the purpose of the test flight was to determine the serviceability of the aircraft and equipment on the ground.
It will be recalled that Dana Air was cleared by the Federal Government to resume its schedule commercial flight operation after three months suspension by the government following the ill-fated plane crash of one of its aircraft MC Donnell Douglas MD 83 on June 3 2012 at Iju-Ishaga area of Lagos that killed 163 people.
