Obafemi Awolowo University also known as ‘Great ife’ has undoubtedly preserved her uniqueness,greatness and superiority amongst other universities by producing many of our leading society business tycoons, Eminent legal luminaries, professionally successful people and society women of substance and lots of people with international repute.
This pageant is aimed at promoting and supporting young women in our society,engendering patriotism as they achieve personal growth, professional success, self -assurance and community involvement.
By hosting Miss OAU 2012, Ville d’ettiney aims at promoting the ideals of self-empowerment and entrepreneurship, conserve our cultural heritage through an ideal engagement in international contests towards bringing a reputable influence on the learning and culture motto of the University.

The pageant is open to any female student in any university in Nigeria.
The winner gets an official car (Nissan Altima) ,1 year scholarship,brand ambassadorial appointments with salary, face of TNTclothings, features in magazines, official cover model of the EMW magazine (a publication of House of Twitch) chance to represent the University at Miss University Nigeria and World Miss University Beauty Pageant and there are also consolation prizes for the 1st and 2nd runners up and other categories like Miss Congeniality, Miss Photogenic (online polls) Miss Personality, Miss Culture amongst others.
