Abacha's Son honoured as the Izon-Ebidouwei Of Ijawland,The Highest Title in Ijawland

Abacha’s son gets highest Ijaw title

The Bayelsa State Government yesterday honoured Mohammed, son of former Military Head of State, the late Gen. Sani Abacha, with the highest title in Ijaw land.

It bestowed on him the “Izon Ebidouwei of Ijawland.”

The title means “One who seeks the good of Ijawland”.

Mohammed was also presented with the flags of the Ijaw Nation.

Mohammed was invited by the government to be part of the 16th anniversary celebration of the state.
Bayelsa was created in 1996 by the late Abacha.

At a dinner organised by the government marking the anniversary, Governor Seriake Dickson, in the company of other Ijaw leaders, conferred the title on Mohammed and also presented the state’s Coat of Arms and flag to the people.

The event was held at the Banquet Hall of the Government House in Yenagoa on Monday night.
The government had earlier named a 150-unit housing estate, the main auditorium of the newly inaugurated Ijaw House and a road in the state capital, after the late Abacha.

Dickson said the state and the Ijaw Nation in general will continue to honour the late Abacha because of the bold step he took by creating Bayelsa state, a development he said has not only opened up Ijaw-land, but has made the Izon man proud.

Dickson said Mohammed is now an indigene of the state and urged him to build a family house in the state

  1. Seriake Dickson of bayelsa state has proven to the world again beyond all doubt that he is the most stupid elected public official in Nigeria. How can you honour the son of the man who murdered your sons and kins men? I wonder what happens to justice reason and common sense, these to me are issues far beyond the simpleton called dickson. The permanent sec saga is yet to abate and he thrust this unjust and psychophantic honour on an elitist brat! I weep for my children with leaders like dickson. History would not be kind to his memory and the likes of Edwin clark who would not raise his voice against such blatant misuse of power, but play the ethnic card at every turn. Niger-deltans have no right to say they are being marginalised, because their leaders have sold their birthright. Well I hope at some point the teeming lazy ass youths in that region would decide to fight their problems which in simple terms are their leaders!

  2. I am not surprised at all. Who is Dickson. Simply put, Dickson is Goodluck Jonathan's stooge. And like the latter, he dabbled into public office without any clue on what it entails. Don't be surprised if he wakes up one morning and give the entire EGBESU to the leader of Boko Haram. Nonsense.

  3. this is a practical illustration of the principle of 'no permanent friend, no permanent foe ,only permanent interest' in politics.
