Team Nigeria reps to the 2012 Paralympic Games arrived in Nigeria yesterday afternoon, amid low profile reception with no official of the national Sports Commission was at the airport to welcome them.
Despite finishing with 13 medals, and occupying the 22nd place on the overall medals table.
In Comparison, wee how Team GB was celebrated after the event.

ReplyDeleteI guess people in government have thwir job finctions spelt out. If this is not done, the president is C in C and should them responsible. So he his also held accountable. We know there are lot of issues he's trying to sort out but these little occassions are quick wins for him. He should note this
ReplyDeleteshame unto our Sport comission. they are only sinanemous with failure. if it were their concubines that had delayed flight they will wait endlessly. but waiting or arranging to welcome these great acheivers, they abandond them. this is not how you treat ppl and expect patrotism. imagine a Nigerian who spent a few yrs in America come back to Nigeria. and while he is gisting about America stands up dough his cap and say "GOD BLESS AMERICA". It shows that the man appreciates and respects America where he has spent less than a decade, married a wife with kids more than Nigeria where he graduated roamed the streets for decades with feelings of hoplessness. WHAT CAN YOU DO FOR YOUR COUNTRY is a function of what your country has done for you. our mischief makers should know this.
