The agency’s Head of Public Affairs, Mr Ofoyeju Mitchell, disclosed this in a statement.
He said that two of the suspects were arrested at the Nnamidi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA), Abuja, while boarding an Ethiopian airline to Malaysia and Istanbul.
Other suspects, according to him, were caught during a screening of passengers.
Mitchell said the narcotics weighing 7.1kg consist of 1.1kg of methamphetamine and 6 kg of cocaine.
“The single mother would have been executed in Malaysia if she was caught there … drug offences carry capital punishment in that country,’’ the statement added. Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday
