Residents and traders at Lawanson area of Lagos State took to the street to protest against the return of a former chairman of the Lagos chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, Mr. Rafiu Olohunwa, to Lawanson as the branch chairman.
The placard carrying protesters went round the streets in the area, as they demanded urgent intervention of the State Government and the state chapter of the NURTW to prevent Olohunwa’s return to the area.

Olohunwa, was until last March the chairman before he was removed after a violent clash between members of his faction and those of M C Oluomo, where several people lost their lives.
Olohunwa has been appealing to several power brokers in the state to assist him reclaim his chairmanship.
Some residents and traders during the last protest expressed their displeasure over Olohunwa’s attempt to return as chairman, an office they said he held for over five years before relinq- uishing it last March.
