Over 190 Air Nigeria passengers arrived Gatwick Airport 8:30 yesterday morning to fly back to Nigeria, and for 8 hours, they were stranded at the airport.
The travelers were informed of lack of 'JET A1' to fly the aircraft to Lagos, and were told to contribute extra £40 each for purchase of the Aviation Fuel
Eventually, the plane left Gatwick airport at 4:30 pm and arrived Nigeria at about 12:30 early this morning.
Upon Arrival, passengers got the shock of their lives when they were told to come back for their luggage!
Many of the Passengers were so angry about what they went through yesterday and are planning to sue Air Nigeria and it's chairman, Jimoh Ibrahim.
From tomorrow Monday September 10th, Air Nigeria will no longer fly for at least a year, having sacked all but 50 of their staff.

Hahahahaaaaaaa. I'm actually cry. Ohhhh, what a shame. What is wrong with us?
ReplyDeleteWoo! na big shame oo, nobi small tinoo!
ReplyDeletewhat is our government doing? A country like Nigeria with no National Carrier. What a shame.
ReplyDeletethe word "shame" is no longer enough to qualify the state of our beloved nation. O Lord Please send us a Deliverer.O Lord Hear Our sorrowful cry for Mercy...
ReplyDeleteIs it that the airline refused to fill its tank or there was lack of Jet A1 fuel to fly the Plane? But when the passengers contributed money there was Jet A1 fuel. I fear who no fear Nigeria. And our ppl are here complaining about reinstating DANA air. The passengers were lucky they were not told in mid-air that fuel is finished. Aviation minister where are you. Don't treath this with kid gloves oooooo.
ReplyDeleteNo naa it is not Air Nigeria, It is "Air Jimoh Ibrahim",maga nor dey the terrain ... so what do you expect?
ReplyDeleteLol! I tried to interprete the caption in Yoruba and even made me laugh more : "e da wo epo" imagine for an aircraft. Na wa o!
ReplyDeleteAnyway, folks on a more serious note, am hoping each and everyone of you that have commented on this news and that have on several other issues or will comment in future will please bear something in their mind and I hope this statement I want to make will make an indelible impression in your heart especially till 2015. You see God will not come down to help us because he has given us the authority and power to change our present and future. Haven't you all wondered that it seems even the more you cry for God's help (as have seen in some comments here and in several other forums) the more it seems He is not there. Could His hand be too short to rescue us? Nay!
You and I are going to make that change. You have to know you have a role to play, we need to start understanding that we need to select our leaders with no sentiments. And that considering their records and leadership attributes is a very important tool that God gave us through Democracy. So 2015 will come and you are going to have to choose again. You will then have to play your role by making sure you pick the best, and tell as many as you know the reason they should vote wisely. That is the answers to our prayers. And did I hear someone says it may not work because they will rig it? Well, history has proven itself. When people speak in a unison manner, their voices are heard and Abiola's election was a good case study.
So my fellow Nigerians that is how we can put an end to all this madness we see on the pages of the dailies everyday. Vote for someone with Integrity and not because of his money. I AM NOT A POLITICIAN BUT I FIGURED THIS IS PART OF WHAT I CAN DO ALL BECAUSE OF MY LOVE FOR NIGERIA.

But the problem is that the credible ones are nerve out to contest. And the messiahs are always pushed aside by the party chiefs.

ReplyDeleteIs that really true? I humbly disagree with that. Its because most time we are dis-illusioned and become lost in the politics of sentiments. I could still remmeber vividly years back when Chief Gani Fawehinmi contested on the Platform of the National Conscience Party. One would have thought with the Integrity of that man and how he fought tirelessly for the commmon men, the MASSES will vote for him. But the reverse was the case, it was even those masses that were against him. Matter of fact, i learnt he did not even win in his own ward. What a shame on us!
So you see, its not that we do not have leaders that can be trusted but like i said the citizens are so dis-illusioned that even they see the truth and prefers to go the other way. Obama came out of no where and became the President of America. It was not about if he has money, even the so called authorities (The Clinton's) and the great names in the Politics of the U.S Democrats were shakened by the change in tide. All these happened because people - the common men desired a change and they went for it by voting their choice.
Fellow Nigerians, again i will say as we continue to suffer the consequences of our decisions in the past years let us begin to look forward to that time when the mantle will be in our hands and whoever you give it to is your choice and that choice will determine our future and that of the coming generation.
