A gang of about 10 armed robbers operating in four vehicles on Thursday attacked a police station and a bank in Ifaki-Ekiti in Ido-Osi Local Government Area of Ekiti State.
Although nobody was killed in the attacks, the robbers left with an undisclosed amount of money.
The invasion forced other banks and shops in the town to shut shop abruptly while the Ado-Ifaki Road and Ifaki-Oye Road were deserted.
The Commissioner of Police, Ekiti State Command, Mr. Sotonye Wakama, confirmed the incident but said the police chased the robbers up to Aramoko, where the hoodlusm abandoned three of their operational vehicles and fled into the bush.
More details later.
