I have seen similar sights and it is very unethical and unacceptable. Much as the government preaches civility, these most of these guys do otherwise. They man- handle, harass, abuse and in some cases intentionally mislead.
At the same time you find those who are very cultured and helpful.
Courtesy & civility must be emphasised and enforced. A feedback system or toll free line for reporting such must be set up.
This picture for example should b investigated and in the public domain.
By the way, is there provision in the new traffic law to enforce the rights of the driver in the picture?
LASTMA is more of a revenue collector for Lagos State Government rather than a traffic Management agency. How can the govt. Employ Area boys and thieves. To manage the state traffic untrained. Where is Lai Mohammed and his criticisms. LASTMA is one of the failed establishments of Lagos State.
Fashola can't you call these your men to order. This is a disgrace for a law enforcement officer. This is display of shame and agbero kind of behaviour. No maater the offence committed by this driver arresting him should not result to this display of shame. Fashola do something about these thugs you employed as LASTMA official. Lagosians are tired of these correct officers. Our complaints has reached high heaven
Pls viewers, help us confirm the actual location of this incident, we are actually carrying out investigation on this serious issue. Youu could make A change. Field Ofcr, Ade.
As unacceptable as the story this picture tells is, the reality is that Lagos roads are populated with the most unruly people you can ever imagine. They would not obey simple traffic rules, neither would they respect the order or instructions of a traffic warden, including LASTMA people. Every Tokunbo car owner/driver is a big man/woman and would not subject themselves to the indignity of being spoken to by a common LASTMA. That is the base, animalistic state we now live in.
Belief me, to work in a traffic related establishment as a traffic control officer you must be rugged especially here in 9ja. The man was doing his job and that was the best way to do it otherwise Danfo drivers will 4k him up.
What do you expect, when even the lastma and bus drivers have an understaining. Haven't you all seen when lastma officials over look the danfo drivers offence and concerntrate only on private vehicles. Now a new law is passed and u expect these illiterate danfo drivers to adjust automatically. Think again. Rubbish sets of holigans
This is not unexpected.
ReplyDeleteThis is madness. The LASTMA official shld be sacked and prosecuted.
ReplyDeletethey are all bird of the same feathers.wot do you xpect?nonsence people.

ReplyDeleteThis is just one of many episodes that occur every day. Once LASTMA was ok but now, they are just a bunch of rogues looking for drivers to exploit.
ReplyDeleteWhere are the agitators for state police?
