Babangida threatens to expose Buhari

A few hours after President Goodluck Jonathan and ex-Head of State, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari took a swipe at former leaders, ex-Military President Ibrahim Babangida fired back.

He asked Dr. Jonathan to learn to accept criticisms and threatened to expose the “holier-than thou-attitude” of Gen. Buhari.

Gen. Babangida, who spoke through Prince Kassim Afegbua, his media adviser, reminded Gen. Buhari that those who live in glass houses should not throw stones.

He also advised Dr. Jonathan to look elsewhere, not him, if he is blaming past leaders that are criticising him.

Kassim said: “On President Jonathan, there is nothing wrong in criticism if it is constructive and in the interest of the country. Gen. Babangida is one unique former President who does not criticise a sitting President as a matter of courtesy.

“If President Jonathan is blaming past leaders, he should look elsewhere, certainly not IBB.

“On Gen. Buhari, it is not in IBB’s tradition to take up issues with his colleague former President. But for the purpose of record, we are conversant with Gen. Buhari’s so-called holier-than-thou attitude.

“He is a one-time Minister of Petroleum and we have good records of his tenure as minister.

“Secondly, he also presided over the Petroleum Trust Fund ( PTF) which records we also have.

“We challenge him to come out with clean hands in those two portfolios he headed. Or, we will help him to expose his. “records of performance during those periods.”

“Those who live in glass houses do not throw stones. Gen. Buhari should be properly guided.”

  8. So going by d saying, "he dat lives in a glass house shld not throw stones", I sense an acceptance to d fact dat he's govt was corrupt as well as d other's govt. Well, I stand to prophesy now, dat, like Martin Luther King did, a day will come when the people will stand up & possess their possession. And everything dat was stolen from them, they will reclaim. Let the leaders keep stealing & storing up wealth, but soon they will realise that dey are no greater than God almighty. D day of reckoning is at hand.

  9. From A-Z are all corrupt,I know change is coming in gradually.my only concern N prayers is that all those who are behind this political motivated Boko Haram will not go unpunish.as long as GOD remains a GOD of justice they sponsored this evil secretly but GOD will expose them openly.innocent blood has been spilled by this good for nothing evil men,I look forward to that day that GOD has set aside to punish them all.if Buhari is doing this for 2015 then let him have a rethink we have vibrant young men that can take this nation to greater hight not old men.

  10. IBB, NA SHAKARA, YOU HAVE NOTHING ON BUHARI !

  11. By the way, IBB may be evil to some people, I resect him because he is not flippant. It was Idiagbon that ruled Nigeria during Buhari's regime. Beside, was Buhari qualified to rule Nigeria as at then? Which University did he attend? Rather, what qualification had he? Any Nigeria that feels that Buhari can make any difference now in the jet era world should defend it. Bihari should go to sleep. He should first clear himself of Boko Haram issue.

Na wa for this country, to the best of my knowledge, Buhari should not Bε̲̣̣̣̥ talking of his regime Ȋ̝̊f H̲̣̣̣̥ε̲̣̣̣̥ is wise cause even a̶̲̥̅̊ little child then knew †̥hα̲̅†̥ H̲̣̣̣̥ε̲̣̣̣̥ ωα̲̅S̤̥̈̊ a̶̲̥̅̊ ceremonial head of state and †̥hα̲̅†̥ Idiagbon ωα̲̅S̤̥̈̊ i̶̲̥̅̊n̶̲̥̅̊ charge. For Buharis information H̲̣̣̣̥ε̲̣̣̣̥ can only smell power again after nigeria had been divided, H̲̣̣̣̥ε̲̣̣̣̥ wil rule his own geo political zone, unless Ȋ̝̊f the God of Nigeria is different fя̩̥̊ơ̴̴̴̴̴̴͡m D̶̲̥̅̊ one true God i K№ω

  18. We Nigerian are easy to fool, A man just made statement that he that live in Glass......, If IBB really have something Buhari did let him say it out, IBB planted Corruption in a Larger scale and Obasanjo watered, it. This Men continue to say Buhari has record.. none of them have come out to say this is what the man stole like IBB and Obasanjo.... if any of us will still believe all this political lies just to tarnish some body image at this time of our political history, is either the person is not thinking or the person need more education, Nigerians are not thinking that is the reason will still count people like Babaginda as relevant.. Buhari is the only head of state in Nigeria without foreign account or who has not stolen

  26. I'd love it if they exposed each other... then we'll know if IBB is truly the father of corruption in Nigeria, or maybe Buhari.

  27. Shameless Babangida, are you not the one who legalized corruption in Nigeria? From time in memorial you have always been known for your self defense. All I know God will catch you one day.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Shame on them all....whether it was Buhari or Idiagbon that led tha purposeful and gocused regime isnot the issue. Can we all be honest enough to compare the two regimes on the basis of transparency and accountability and decide which of the two was truly people oriented? Sentiments should not becloud our sense of rwasoning,we should not be fooled by maradonna and the Otta Gods of corruption anymore. God save us from their spent and diminished vision as we search for lasting solutions to our many problems. If they have no solutions, they should all bury their hesds in shame because they were all part of the problem.

  29. Instead of you to put your rivalries aside and put your heads together to give focus and leadership towards salvaging the dying North , you are dessipating your energy on commical blame games and entertaining those who are working hard to break us further while consolidate their geopliticsl strategies for greatness. What a shame . "Ahmadu ya wuce har yau ba mai canji nai" as the singer Dankwairo predicted, the vacum left by Sardauna is yet to be filled.

  30. I agree with Ojo. Buhari is a saint compaired to others. Apart from being a religous fanatic he is the best head of state Nigeria ever had. He is not corrupt like others. IBB hav nothing to say. He killed this country and should keep quite.

  31. one thing that i know for sure is that GOD is not sleeping, at the fullness of time,He will manifest Himself. You must examine yourself first and be sure that in your own jurisdiction, you are not corrupt before throwing stones on the leaders.Just do the right thing, pray for this nation and leave judgement for GOD.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Our God is watching all the so call past leaders if D̶̲̥̅̊ε̲̣̣̣̥γ̲̣̣̥ don't repent the anger of God would be upon all U̶̲̥̅̊..
