S-West PDP asks Femi Gbajabiamila to resign

IBADAN—Peoples Democratic Party,PDP, in the South-West has given House of Representatives’ Minority Leader, Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila,  14 days ultimatum to resign following alleged admission that he was sanctioned by Georgia Supreme Court.
In a statement by its Zonal Publicity Secretary, Mr. Kayode Babade, the party said:  “Since he has admitted that he was sanctioned by Georgia Supreme Court for professional misconduct and negligence, the most honourable thing to do is to vacate his seat in the House of Representatives.”

The Supreme Court of Georgia had on February 26, 2007 allegedly suspended Gbajabiamila from practising law for 36 months.
According to the party, Gbajabiamila, a member of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, allegedly admitted violating Rule 1.15(I) of the Georgia Rules of Professional Conduct set forth in Bar Rule 4-102(d).
PDP claimed that he accepted payment of $25,000 as settlement of a client’s personal injury claims, deposited those funds in his attorney trust account in January 2003, failed to promptly disburse those funds to his client, withdrew those funds for his own use, closed his practice and moved out of the country.
The party said although he ultimately paid the $25,000 to his client in 2006, three years after he collected the fund, his conduct violated Rule 1.15(I), which is punishable by disbarment.
PDP  added that said it was ridiculous that Gbajabiamila could be using the House of Representatives impeachment plot against President Goodluck Jonathan as a defence for his shady past, saying; “In a saner clime, what he (Gbajabiamila) would have done was to vacate his seat and apologise to Nigerians.
“Or does it now mean that a man who admitted that he committed an offence and that he was sanctioned for it can justify same by simply claiming that he was championing good governance and impeachment of the president?”

They are no good cause they knew this about him all along right? The Question is, why NOW? Let the man be. Whom among them has no skeleton in his wardrope?

  2. Your comment is sickling. Didn't ACN aware of the man's Sanctioning in the USA?. PDP has done well by asking him to resign and ACN should join Gbajabiamila in prostrating to Nigerian for knowinly fielding a soiled candidate. What is PDP's offence in this . EFCC & ICPC should take it up from here.

  4. Simply because he Gbajamila had said the fact and that is the reason why those forking blabbers are yelling.

Without pressure groups or opposition parties we go no where in this country, there are lapses at the executive region and the man got it articulated. Should that be his crime?

Issue like this hadn't come up before now, but someone is driving us and we can't even understand where is driving us from, where is driving us to and how to get there and some one raised alarm while you bloody particles of PDP eye service maggots are making noise.

Bushshit; forking PDP, toothless dogs in Yoruba land. You guys are silenced and unpopular for live in South- Western part of Nigeria. I do not know of the other areas of the country.

Look, this country must go forward, we should make our minds to always stand on the truth so that we can progress. Eye service, boot- licking etc to survive can not help us.

Gbajamila go ahead after all, Ibori and many others as ex-convict served us in one way or.... in this country either good or bad.

  6. It is not good to point accusing finger on others. This is because if you point one finger, the rest four will be directed to you. it serves him right.

  7. Its highly unfortunate for Femi.
How on earth can he do that if indeed its true?
I am sad, because some of us look up to him and Farouk and were proud of them.

God allows for repentance but in public service such as this, I think he is no longer standing on any moral ground and that's my pain.

As for the PDP guys,... Its just pathetic for Nigeria that we have them around. Just Imagine a first lady doubling as a perm sec! These people are sick!
