  7. if they stay at home, the hunger and poverty will kill, if they go there to fetch the rare commodity, they will die, but there is chance they may not. they decided to take the second option. it is decision at work. Don't think, they are foolish or greedy either. it is a state of the mind.

  11. Nigeriaan will see death coming, and they will be moving towards it to snatch whatever its holding.....We only sympatise with them after their death, they do not even sympatise with themselves b/4 death. I wonder if they will cry for help when while dying.

  21. The poverty level in Nigeria has not only make some citizens greedy but foolish. Previous incidents should have taught Nigerians that anywhere you see petrol oozing out of a tanker you run away because a little spark will make it to catch fire once. The Abule-Egba incident is more than enough lesson

  22. Man must survive. No risk, no reward

  23. They are neither foolish nor greedy. The guilty fellow is Naija and her looters like IBB, Abubarka, OBJ, Otedola, Dangote, all senators, all governors, all congressmen/women, etc! Poor souls, SHAME ON NIGERIA!!

  24. The caption does not portray the reality. Poverty is the main motivating force behind them taking such risk to earn a quick buck. Ignorance is also a contributing factor. If you don't know about the volatile nature of petrol or even petrol fumes you might think you can outrun or out smart an inferno when it starts.

  25. We may see this as foolish or greedy but what we don,t see is that the entire human race is sitting on explosive that is ready to explode any time.

  28. You would never see this in a country where the government provides jobs and conducive conditions for it's people. So these people are not greedy, some might not have eaten proper meals for days. Some are probably homeless.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Forget about poverty in this matter. Because u are hungry does not mean you should jump into the lions den with food inside

    ReplyDelete
  30. Poverty of the mind is what you see here! It's very dangerous than any other forms of poverty.

  31. Shame on Nigeria and her leader, not d people, extreme poverty and hunger brought them there, mr captioner i think d caption should be extreme poverty. Contributor, be wary of criticism because u dont know what people are going through here what u see or hear government say on media is high level hypocrisy.

  32. Please, It is not greed nor Foolishness but looking for a way to make ends meet.

  33. I want to believe they are not the only poverty stricken ppl in that vicinity. If after what happened in Port Harcourt recently ppl can still go all out to scoop fuel from a fallen tanker, then let them ride on. I'll help them pray that fire dont breakout, but if it does occur, NEMA should not spend our scarce resources on relief for them. Let the dead bury the dead. Period!

    ReplyDelete
  34. This can not happen in a country where people are eating well, with enough jobs.

This is a clear indication of abject poverty and it simply means that majority of Nigerians are suffering because Nigeria has no government that cares for you.

    ReplyDelete
  35. The Nigerian government Failed us,never seem democracy! All we've seen is hypocrisy, 99% of Nigerians are suffering in extreme poverty an Oil Nation that can not provide for it citizen,

While our economy grew, the incomes of the poor have not,

    1.No healthcare facilities
    2.No Clean drinking water
    3.No electricity supply
    4.No good education
    5.No good motorable roads
    6.No job

History is a people's memory, and without a memory, man is demoted to the lower animals

I think that an objective analysis of events that are taking place in Nigeria today points towards some type of ultimate showdown. You can call it political showdown, or even a showdown between the rich and the poor, I believe that there will ultimately be a clash between the oppressed and those that do the oppressing. I believe that there will be a clash between those who want freedom, justice and equality for everyone and those who want to continue the systems of exploitation.

My Brothers don't be in a hurry to condemn people because he doesn't do what you do or think as you think or as fast. There was a time when you didn't know what you know today.

  36. Bad as it may be, I don’t think it foolishness or greed. Does it sound strange to hear that days pass by and some can’t get anything to eat? Make things run you, and then you will have a different view of life. Farouk with all his entitlement still went for $620k. That is greed. But this is what the likes of Farouk and our Government has driven the masses to. Sometimes these ppl don’t know when they start treading this disastrous part.

  37. Oh my God,what a scene? The lack of knowledge makes my people perish for truth. So they even are not aware the FIRE could catch at anytime.
Or have they not heard of the similar incidents where people are burn to death? It is really true that stupid people are born into the World everyday. No wonder these insane fuel thirst suckers are helping reduce the swearing population of Nigeria.

    ReplyDelete
  38. One should say its Ignorance first and foremost. Greediness is in all spheres of life in Nigeria, beginning from the President to the least person. Once an opportunity presents itself, then one can boost whether He or She is not greedy. For these ones, it will interest you to note that most of them are artisans with money in their pockets but looking for quick fast bucks. No one sees death becking at its doorsteps with money in its hand and thinking that he can out-smart the devil, which amounts to foolishness. As the Holy book says; once there is life, there lies Hope. We only have one Life to live. No amount of Govt. inadequacies can make you loose your life just like that and go to hell, because this is an act of stealing and covetousness. May God help us all!

  39. Why do men get mad when women are feminists? Like they think because we got SOME rights in the past century that we should
just be happy with that. Not even 100 years ago we just got the
right to vote in the US. So out of the hundreds of thousands of years
humans have been on earth, we’re supposed to be satisfied with what we have and not try to progress any...
show more I've never backed away from equal rights for anyone.
I do get mad at pompousa-holes that do make generalized statements though.
