Notorious robber, Shina Rambo now a Pastor

For many Nigerians, born before or in the 90's, the name "SHINA RAMBO" will surely ring a bell. It was a name that sent cold shivers to many whenever it was mentioned. Different stories about the former robbery kingpin, who terrorised the South West in the 1990s filled the air, as security officials battled to contain the notorious armed-robber for many years.

However Omokenwa a.k.a. Shina Rambo in 2012 is now a changed person, leading a prison ministry, his aim is also to lead a power crusade to rid the Lagos Island of criminals and miscreants who daily make life unbearable for people in the central business district of the commercial capital of country.

A statement by the pastor in charge of the Lagos branch of Word of Life Bible Church, Lagos, Pastor Segun Braimoh, said the Lagos Island Power Crusade with the theme: “Divine Visitation”, is scheduled for August 2-4, 2012 and it will hold at the popular Oluwole Park, a reclaimed area of Lagos erstwhile regarded as the centre for forging all kinds of documents.

According to Braimoh, Evangelist Shina Rambo, whose real name is Omokenwa, has agreed to share his testimony of conversion at the three-day event and preach the undiluted Word of God with a view to winning the souls of the area boys in Lagos Island for Christ and enthrone a regime of peace in the area.

Coincidentally, the main preacher at the crusade is a retired police officer, ASP Udeh Sunday, who at one time was in charge at Robbery Squad in Lagos and there will be two special prayer sessions for Lagos State and businesses in the state. He will be joined by the host, Braimoh, while the TLC Praise Choir will minister.

Braimoh confirmed that the Oba of Lagos plans to send delegates from the palace.
In a telephone conversation yesterday, the former robbery kingpin, who claimed that his father hailed from Abeokuta, Ogun State, while his mother was from Sabongida-Ora, Edo State where he was raised and recruited into criminal activities.

Rambo reminded that after terrorising the South west in 1990s, he gave himself up to the police, convicted and was released from prison after serving 11 years at Agodi Prison, Ibadan. According to him, he met the Lord miraculously through a chance encounter in prison with Prophet T.O Obadare and since then his life had not remained the same, and had a prison ministration.

In a recent interview, he advised the Federal Government to tap from the “wealth of experience of people like us who can decode a lot of knotty issues as regards how to curb the menace of armed robbery. Some of those inside the prison are not supposed to be there. By the time they are out, they become hardened criminals.”

He therefore prayed that God will make things work in this country, “If He could locate me from the pit of darkness where I sojourned, and now in Christ, He will deliver the country from bad leaders who make things difficult for the masses, he added.”

He may go to heavaen since he is now born again.
If Boko Haram become born again toady, are we to celebrate or let them face justice?

Nigerians I think are the most ------ set of people in this world.
that was why Jonathan was voted for just because he had no shoe while growing up.

  10. The depravity of man's heart is not beyond the gracious and saving power of God, "He says in His word I am the God of all flesh is there is anything too hard for me?" I only pity those who have been killed by this man without hope of eternal life.

  12. If Shina Rambo repent is good for him to have mercy of God . But he suppose to be killed for taking many innocent life during his deadly robbery act.

The same thing apply to our leaders after embezzle our money , they will turn to Pastor or Imam .

Anybody that kill innocent sole should be given chance to repent and killed as well .

I think we should not be celebrating stupidity in our society.
I remember vividly when Bode George left Prison there was thanks giving and warm welcoming Ceremony.

Let give all our bad leader ,ex-militant ,ex-BK member chance to repent and face law as well for there misdeed.

Without this we will continue to wallowing in Problem in this country .

ONCE AGAIN I AGREE WITH REPENTANCE AFTER COMITING EVIL BUT ONE SHOULD FACE EQUIVALENT PUNISHMENT FOR HIS OR HER MIS DEEDS AS WELL.

  13. I will not believe the story of Shina Rambo, unless and until it is confirmed by Prophet T.O.Obadare himself. The guy should not be trusted. So much blood on his hands. Why are Nigerians so gullible?

  14. He that killest with the sword must be killed with the sword,as growing child i had about him and each knock at the sends fear into me,because among my peers we use it to play shina rambo, now you are born agan after wasting peoples life,no way.

  15. Why not leave judgement for God.

  16. What goes around come around. Judgment is for God. If u kill by the gun u will surely die by the gun. But to make heaven is left for God to decide

  17. He make a way where people think there is no way. that's GOD for you. i must thank GODalmighty for the life of shina rambo, for his family and for the entire nation of nigeria as whole. To GOD be the glory. AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  18. God's mercy triumph over judgement. If God judges you by your own sin, are YOU free. Thank God for His mercy over Shina's life.

  19. My major concern here is that a person of Shina's status will not be an ordinary convert before jumping into being a pastor. Has great testimony replaced the inspiration of the Holy Spirit in teaching God's word? End Time...

  22. Thank GOD dat he Shina or wot ever he called him self has repented and accept CHRIST.But dis man killed so many innocent 9ja pple who would have helped their family in one way or the other. He made so many children an orphan,I am happy that he has giving his life to OLUWA.But he need to be killed also,d same Bible he is holding made it clear dat those who killed by gun SHALL also be killed by gun.Dat is some of us dont want to kill any body.SO LET HIM FACE A FIRING SQUID 4 D ACT HE HAS COMMITTED

  23. His Grace is sufficient for us!

  24. Pls dear commentators, the Holy Bible did not say those who kill by the gun shall also be killed by the gun. It rather said "He who lives by the sword will also die with the sword". It may be interpreted in thesame way but you need to quote it as it is so that those who could read in between the lines could do so. By human standard, Shina Rambo stands condemned, but by Gods standard, there is more joy in heaven over a repentant Shina Rambo than over all the General Overseers in Nigeria and the world at large who need no repentance.

Why can't we allow God to do his thing is his own way.
He said that I will have mercy to whom I will have mercy upon and I will have compassion to whom I will have compassion to.

  35. The human nature is malleable and not unchangeable. When the power of God touches a depraved man it gives him a divine nature capable of exhibiting good works. Shina's case is not an exception.

  36. You people sef...can't you READ?? Shina Rambo already served a 11years jail term and was released...haba!!! u want him to be convicted again and serve again??? so he has paid for his actions (according to the judgement of the federal government) otherwise they would have arrested him.

  37. Our God is SOVEREIGN. He shows mercy to whom ever he wants to show mercy. My people, let's leave judgment for God. If God is a man, who will still be exist. Let's not provoke God!!! We are alive today because of His Mercy and Grace. Also, let's not forget the person of Apostle Paul who rendered many people Motherless, fatherless, childless, homeless etc in his days but God arrested him and used him to even preach to those same people who knew to be a murderer. Most of the scripture in the new testament was written by him. OUR GOD IS SOVEREIGN.

  39. You all celebrating this man, saying 'thank God' ' To God be the glory', you are deeply sick!
In fact, you need deliverance more than he does!
He should face the law, go to jail and serve for years! While in jail, he may continue 'his' ministry.
