NIGERIAN sports authorities have continued to look forward to a glorious campaign by the country' s athletes to the London 2012 Olympics starting on July 27.
Top sports administrators like the Sports Minister Mallam Bolaji Abdulahi the President of the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) Engr. Sani Ndanusa as well as Chief Solomon Ogba.
President of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) were among those that have assured Nigerians of a good outing in London.
The duo of Alhassan Yakmut and former Olympian Henry Amike are the latest to boast of a sound performance by the Nigerian contingent to London.
Yakmut in his own words, said with the level of preparation and commitment from the athletes and their officials as well as motivation from the country's sports authorities, Nigerian athletes will disappoint doubting Thomases.
"'The Minister has been saying it for long that we are not going to make up the number in London, but we are aiming at returning home with medals that will make the event Nigeria's best in history.”
''We have witnessed the best preparation ahead of any event, the athletes are in the best frame of mind and rearing to go,'' said Yakmut.
Ex Olympian Henry Amike was also upbeat as far as Nigeria's campaign is concerned, assuring Nigerians of a rewarding outing in London.
