Mother goes to jail for her "Bad Boy" son

A 65-year old woman, Helen Oguanya has been remanded in prison custody by an Apapa Magistrate’s Court in Lagos Southwest Nigeria, for her failure to produce her son Chubuzor Oguanya who was standing trial before the court.

Mrs. Oguanya, who resides with her son at 8, Goriola Street, Ajegunle, Lagos, stood surety for her son who later ran away. When Chibuzor failed to appear in court, the magistrate ordered his surety to show cause why she will not forfeit her bail bond.

Helen Oguanya was arrested and arraigned for aiding the escape of a suspect

The old woman said that her son told her that he could no longer go to the court and face criminal trial because he would likely go to prison.

The embittered woman wept bitterly as she was taken away by warders to prison custody. She lamented that her son has been a torn in the flesh of her family, adding that his brothers refused to stand as surety for him because of his bad behaviour and out of fear that that he might jump bail.
“ He has now abandoned me to suffer for a crime I know nothing about,” she lamented.

The 30-year old Chibuzor was arraigned before the court for allegedly sneaking into a new generation bank at Festac and stealing from a hand bag containing N2,000, make ups and ATM card belonging to Felicia Okorie, a staff of the bank. He was arrested by the bank’s security guards and handed over to the police.

He was charged to the Apapa Magistrate’s court.

When he was arraigned, he pleaded not guilty and the court granted him bail in the sum of N10,000 and one surety in like sum. Her mother stood surety for him.

This prompted the presiding Magistrate, Mrs. A .K. Shonubi to issue a bench warrant against him and his surety to show cause why she should not forfeit the bail bond she signed. Subsequently, Helen was arrested and arraigned before the court.

The court ordered her to pay the bond money she stood for him. She was remanded in prison custody pending when she will pay the N10,000.

  5. The ones that steal Billions share it with the Police and Lawyers. And use some to threaten the Officers of the Law by bribing (sorry finding favour with their superiors.

In other for the public to know they are working they go to the market with bombs and special tactical teams to arrest pick pockets and the like.

Use your tactical and intelligence teams to cut off the source of Boko Haram funding and source of acquiring arms. Also expose the Leaders who we know are involved in these things.

    God bless Nigeria.
