Nweze, who is popularly called "Honourable", was gathered to have said that he was sleeping in his house in the night when his generating set went off abruptly.
NigerianEye gathered that Nweze immediately woke up, and suspecting that thieves might have sneaked into the house, brought out his pump action gun and aimed at the direction of the generating set.
He was said to have fired several shots to scare the suspected thieves. It was further gathered that Nweze realized his mistake when his wife screamed that she had been hit.
The woman was rushed to the New Testament Hospital, Ogrute in Igboeze North Council headquarters, where doctors confirmed her dead.
Police in the state said yesterday that they have already commenced investigation into the mater. Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu, said the corpse of the deceased has been deposited in the mortuary for autopsy. I Suggest.... Police not to rely on autopsy alone. That, they shld subject the so called honourable or whatever under serious interogation while investigation is going on to acertain the real cause of his wife's death.

ReplyDeleteI don't trust Honourable's claim.When he shot once & missed,the normal thing is for the Wife to shout.According to this report,he shot more than once.You know,he can't lie about the number of times he shot,because,neighbours will count for him.He should be squeezed very well by police.

I have read this same story in other newspapers and they all made mention of Cornmeal or and that the man shot his wife as a result of her not preparing the right meal he demanded. Why have you taken only the man's side of the story.This is poor journalism

ReplyDeleteIf I may ask was the wife of the so call honorable not in that house with honourable before the generating set went off and if the answer is yes she was in the house before the se went off the husband should have asked after her before taking action. I think there is more to it than me the eyes.
