This is the proper thing to do. Mr. President, pls take a critical assessment of your one year in office. How many jobs were created? Did our power generation increase significantly? What about security? What has been done to implement the Fuel Subsidy Report? Where are we now with respect of our fight with corruption? I think these issues and more need attention than changing the name of an institution. God help us. FRANK
ReplyDeleteLol, did he just wake up?
ReplyDeleteFaced with a pending lawsuit from the students of unilag, GEJ is now wiser. Some mothers do often have them!
@Frank GEJ is clueless nd short of ideas. That's why he devotes special time on irrelevant issues dat can't benefit Nigerians. He is becoming more confuse each day.
ReplyDeleteThis mr. President of a person does not know the role attained to him yet and thinks he can just change things that has been in existence before he was born or since his childhood. Renaming of institutions is not the problem nigeria is facing now but other necessary factors like security corruption and the likes including unemployment. This man is very heady. I wish i hadn't voted him in. Am really regretting this. Can someone talk to him to do the relevants and not irrelevants. Though its good to acknowledge our past heroes, but not to the detriment of other things. Please reconsider your decision.
ReplyDeleteWhat is the essence of the Federal Government having an AG of Federation, if after small small children have draged the president to court for not seeking the approval of the NASS before renaming unilag?
ReplyDeletethis is a shame on the AG except he could defend himself of lack of knowledge of the president renaming of UNILAG
Frank, am behind you
ReplyDeletehello mr president, i dont think that renaming already established university is the problem in our great country, why dont we take our time to delibrate over the important issues subh as the JOB CREATION for the fresh grad uates. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteThis is a distration. This govt has failed us all!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a shame. This is what an oyinbo man will call 'misplaced priority'. Let him go back to FEC and reorganise his house. There are a lot of sabotuers in his house.
ReplyDeleteThis is putting the cart before the horse. This bill should have been sent and passed before the announcement. Anyhow jare, this is Naija where 2 is counted before 1. God help us
ReplyDeleteFrank, i totally support you
ReplyDeleteIn Nigeria we operate federal system of govt., mr president has the vecto right to formulate policies. Lets the senate and the electorates meet the president's demand. The rename of institutions cannot fall the standard of the education of such institutions neither change its status. Lets us cherised the effort of our past heroes, and joins hands together to increase our education standard.
ReplyDeleteI don't see the reason why people should be blaming Mr president Goodluck Jonathan for recognizing most of our hero's that fault for democracy, Mr president i think your ideal of recognizing them is welcome but still remember that is not the major problem facing this our great country called NIGERIA,the young graduate has no JOB,no ELECTRICITY not to talk of insecurity of the Country so don't only concentrate on renaming schools.
ReplyDeleteMr President has run short of ideas, so he doesn't even know issues that attention should be paid to. Issues requiring immediate attention are left unattended to while those of little or no consequence is what he is running after. oga presido, time no dey o!
ReplyDeleteMedicine after Death. He should face other important issues...CORRUPTION, GREED, SECURITY, POWER SUPPLY, JOBS, EDUCATION, ETC. GET BUSY WITH THESE GEJ.
ReplyDeleteGoverning this country is indeed a huge task, i think Mr President is on a right track, he has the right to rename any Federal Institution, why are the students crying fowl, the name change will not negate the degree or the graduates that will pass from there, i think the whole issue is very funny and laughable, students protesting for name change while there other more serious befalling the nation. They should face there studies, graduate then come out to face the real world instead of behaving like babies......
ReplyDeleteA former lecturer taking a lesson from undergraduate students. Very funny.
ReplyDeleteLet us encourage Mr President to leave the major things and accomplish a lot of small things to increase the QUANTITY of achievements: Pls rename Aso Rock afetr Abacha because he died there, rename other things like chemist stores, paint stores, boutique, commision canoe and call it Naval war ship and name it after his wife. Remember shoe selling shops etc. Security and Power can be considered later: Vision 2020 - AJ
ReplyDeleteI think there issues that are more important and need attention than changing the name of an institution. I hope the senate has better thing to delibrate on than this issue. Please wake to better things Mr president.
ReplyDeleteI agree with AJ. GEJ should leave Big thing and take care of small things . At least there will be somtn to show Nigeria at the end of 4 years .
ReplyDeleteNigerian is the only country that is blessed with "VISIONABLE PRESIDENT ".
Carry on GEJ with your vision
hmmm, no comment. hope Mr. President finds his way soon. cos i definitely see a lost man without priorities here.
ReplyDeleteYes oooh! he is totally lost & clueless those with him are not helping matter perhaps he refuse to listen..
ReplyDeleteI think Mr President should be notify concerning FRANK'S COMMENT. He needs to know the primary needs of Nigeria and Nigerians, not the tertiary needs. GOD help us,even the EYES are filled with blind
ReplyDeleteHey!!!!!! OMG
ReplyDeleteI think we have more than enough critical issues in our country to occupy all the time that our President has got. changing of schools' name shouldn't be on the list. Establish new structures/institutions in remembrance of our heroes past not changing the names of those on ground.
ReplyDeleteTackle security issues and terrorism, corruption, seek senate approval to ask Airline operators to merge, purchase new aircraft s and stop roasting human beings like bush animals or quit NIGERIA. In my understanding, changing of school name is mere chasing after shadows, Pls we need to chase after substances.
