Ikeja Shopping mall shop owners protest Parking Fees.

A visit to the Ikeja shopping mall this morning revealed a protest to parking fees by shop owners. they were protesting against the imposition of a N200/hr parking fee by the management of the Mall.


Shop owners in the newly opened Ikeja city mall closed temporarily today to protest the imposition of parking fees on visitors to the mall. a visit to the mall this morning, most of the shops were shut down and had signs on the doors aying the were protesting extortion by the ikeja city mall operators. 


Our correspondent spoke with some shop owners who said that the new fees would affect thier business adversely and was not part of the agreement with the mall operators. 

According to a shop owner who asked to be anonymous, This is contrary to the business model of a shopping mall which depends on free moving customers leasurely shopping for goods after wandering and window shopping.

  3. same here,200 for coming to patronize u>if we do not shop there, no how those shops would have been paid for.Let them impose the fee and see who the great loser will be

  4. That is expensive and Palms Shopping Mall Lekki has been operating since 2006 and no nonsense parking fee like this.
