'Government should give us our allowie' - Ekiti State Corpers



Some of the 1,871 outgoing members of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Batch B in Ekiti State, yesterday, protested alleged failure of Ekiti State Government to pay their three months allowance.


This came as no fewer than 1,871 Batch B corps members participated in the passing out parade at Christ School Playing Ground, Ado-Ekiti.

Sources gathered that the aggrieved corps members were those who served in public primary and secondary schools in the 16 local government areas of the state.

In a show of solidarity, some of their counterparts who served in the local governments, ministries and corporate organisations, joined the peaceful protest.

However, the state Director of NYSC, Mr. Tunde Baba-Ahmed, appealed to the state government to redeem its pledge that the money would be paid into their accounts.

The director advised the corps members to be patient.
