Mourners at a funeral in Egypt swapped tears for cheers when the 'dead' body they were burying woke up.
Hamdi Hafez al-Nubi, a 28-year-old waiter from Naga al-Simmanm, near Luxor was declared dead after suffering a heart attack at work.
His body was being prepared for burial when a doctor, sent to sign his death certificate, discovered he was still warm.
Family members were so convinced Mr al-Nubdi was dead they had already washed his body, according to Islamic tradition, and were preparing to bury him on Friday evening.
After finding he was still warm, the doctor checked his vital signs and discovered he was still breathing.
She quickly revived Mr al-Nubdi - along with his mother, who had fainted when she heard her son wasn't dead.
Rather than cancel the funeral, mourners turned the party into a celebration of Mr al-Nubdi's 'resurrection'.
It's not the first time someone has come 'back from the dead' at their own funeral.
Just last month a 95-year-old Chinese woman climbed out of her own coffin six days after she was thought to have died following a fall.
Li Xiufeng was found motionless and not breathing in bed by a neighbour two weeks after tripping and suffering a head injury at her home in Beiliu, Guangxi Province.
When the neighbour who found her could not wake the pensioner up, they feared the worst and thought the elderly woman had passed away
She was placed in a coffin which was kept in her house unsealed under Chinese tradition for friends and relatives to pay respects.
But the day before the funeral, neighbours found an empty coffin, and later discovered the 95-year-old, who had since woken up, in her kitchen cooking

ReplyDeletecan u see d disadvantage in all this erroic tradition of immediate burier...assuming its all this quake doc....who know they might have buried d man alive...and who knows how many u had buried alive...muslims i tink its high time u revive this ur laws..this is technology era...who revived a stop heart ........

Christian has no specific burial rite or can you tell me one. Christians follow west for anything they do.
Do not quote muslim or Islam wrong. Always seek knowledge Islam does not contradict the sciences. Always read history
heey u....May 15, 2012 10:02 AM ....i made that comment you referred to...and about burial rites...what do u mean by following western world......and y d rush in buring someone in a day.....and u muslims ...r u not following the middle east ways of doing things including this burial...this is a case study and only God knows aw many u guys have buried without proper consultation......u beta research urself and stop saying what uu dont know about christians cos every thing you do today is arabic ways even ur Koran and aw u read it......if u know u r not following arabic doctrine cant u read ur Koran in hausa or yoruba lang in local mosques here in Nigeria......beta watch ur tongue abt uu tok to xtians cos u people r worse.....and if u say islam doesnt contradict science....have you read b4 dat people could be regarded as brain dead for like 15hrs and still com back to life....so do ur research mr man and leave xtians out of this.....cos considering so many aspects we still do the right more than u guys

ReplyDeleteso u see that u people end up all the time burying life people....who ends up awake in their graves...and later suffocate....so u see u guys need to rethink...and change some things in the manner u do things
