Former Super Eagles captain, Nwankwo Kanu has tasked Nigerians to strive to honour their heroes when they are still alive instead of crying ‘out their eyes’ and making eulogies at their death.
Nwankwo who said he was still in shock over the death of former Nigeria international, Rashidi Yekini. asked, “where was everybody when the man needed help?
Those who gave everything in the service of their country must be accorded the desired attention at all times. Yekini suffered and died like an orphan. Today, everybody is lamenting over his death. Nobody cared for him while he was alive and suffering,”
Kanu who has been chosen by the International Olympic Committee as one of the 2012 Olympic torch bearers in London said he was sad at the death of Yekini whom he said was their source of inspiration as young players in the national team.
“Although one does not pray for such things to happen. The question is, today it is Yekini, who’ll be next?”

Romans 5:5 says, Hope maketh not ashamed.
ReplyDeleteFellow Nigerians lets not give up our hope that God is well able to make Nigeria be the best of country in the world. There is a reason why we are Nigerians. Hope lost, implies loss of faith in God to change Nigeria / Nigerians, loss of courage to pray to God, loss of morals for immoral acts, loss of normalcy for abnormality, etc the least is endless.
Isaiah 3:10 says ‘it is WELL with the righteous’. We are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.
Nigeria will survive and gain back ALL her loss glory, in Jesus name, amen.
Satan the devil is our common enemy. Let’s get rid of his manipulation and be in the liberty that Jesus proffered!
Thanks
Kanu you said Rashidi Yekini inspired you when he was alive,of what assistance were you to him when he was sick and you have all it takes to help him.You are alive today because somebody remembered you when you have heart problem but you have forgotten in a hurry.Shame to all his team mates, shame to NFF,shame to his State of Origin,Shame to FG.Such a hero died of a curable or manageable disease. He died reached and was burried reached.Rashidi RIP....

ReplyDeleteAnonymous 9.33am, well said, thumbs up.
Anonymous 9:33 you 've said it all jare. He should stop pointing accusing finger cos he also didnt care when he should.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous 9:33am why talk like that? Nwankwo Kanu has Kanu Heart foundation and apart from that he remains one selfless Nigerian footballers till date. While Eulogising the dead, we should also remember that Yekini had opportunities to be richer than Kanu if then he wasnt lucky, and he never cried out we shouldn't blame anybody. Maybe that was how God wanted it. You that is talking, how many beggers have you given money today?
ReplyDeleteAnonymous 9:33am u have said well, its a lesson for all of us to be our brothers keeper anytime and anywhere not after incident.
