A Father and his son believed to be members of a syndicate that specialises in snatching cars have been arrested in Nasarawa by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
Parading the suspects before reporters at the weekend on behalf of the Commandant of the NSCDC in Nasarawa State, Nweze Emmanuel, the Public Relations Officer (PRO), Soji Alabi, said the suspects, Bala Muhammed the father and Bala his son were the leaders of the syndicate operating in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and at Karshi in Karu Local Government of Nasarawa State.
The two suspects, who were arrested in their hideout at Karshi, were said to have confessed to snatching 30 vehicles in the last six months in the FCT and at Karshi.
The PRO said six of their accomplices are now on the run and the NSCDC is on their trail.
He said preliminary investigations revealed that the principal suspect (father) also specialised in buying stolen vehicles in Abuja and its environs.
Alabi said investigation would be carried out and the suspects would be made to face the full wrath of the law.
