Eight docked for pasting “Yuguda for President in 2015″ posters

Governor Isa Yuguda of Bauchi State


The Police in Bauchi State has arraigned eight people before Chief Magistrate Court number seven for pasting the posters of Governor Isa Yuguda for president 2015 in Bauchi state.

The suspects are Sani Adamu ,Tukur Yakubu ,Kamal Jibrin , Abdul Ibrahim, Nuru Ahmed , Mohd Garba, Adamu Moh’d and Mamu Ibrahim.

They were charged with criminal conspiracy, falsehood with the intention to causing disturbance and unnecessary political tension among the public.


The Police Prosecutor Sergent Zakari Ajala told the court that the suspects illegally produced and printed 1,000 copies of Political Posters of Governor Isa Yuguda declaring his intention to contest for the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in 2015.

He said that the posters have the capacity to disturb public peace and cause confusion in the state.

The Prosecutor said, during interrogation, that the suspects admitted to have printed and pasted the poster without consultation and the knowledge of the Bauchi State Governor Isa Yuguda.

The Police recovered 823 posters, four films, one computer printout and posters which they know may cause fear and alarm to the public peace contrary to section 96,418 and 419 of the penal code laws.

In order to enable the Police to complete their investigations he asked the court to adjourn the case because investigation was still on-going.

The Defense counsel Barrister Hauwa Jibrin did not oppose the adjournment rather he applied for bail of the suspects which was also not opposed by the prosecution.

The presiding Chief Magistrate Mohammed Mukhtar granted bail to the suspects and adjourned the suit to 22 may 2012 for further mentioning.
