Bombings: CAN issues FG final warning

Pastor Ayo OritsejaforThe Christian Association of Nigerian has asked the Federal Government to use all resources available to it to put an end to terrorism in the country.

CAN says it is its final warning to the government.
President of the association, Pastor Ayo Oritsejeafor, at a press conference on Wednesday said the association would no longer be able to guarantee the cooperation of restraining restive and aggrieved Nigerians if government failed to take urgent action to address the menace.

Oritsejeafor observed that Christians were the targets of series of bombings in the country, he however appealed to Nigerians to remain calm in the face of the security challenges.

He said, “As President of the Christian Association of Nigerian my first call to all peace loving Nigerians is remain calm in the face of all the insecurity challenges as I am aware that the greater part of the overall design is to instill fear in the populace.

“I will now make final call to Nigerian Government to use all resources available to it to clearly define and neutralise the problem as other nations have done.
“The Church leadership has hitherto put immense restraint on the restive and aggrieved millions of Nigerian but can no longer guarantee such cooperation if this trend of terror is not halted immediately.”

He said the association had persistently pleaded with the government to take courage and act to stop the terror unleashed on the Nigerian nation.
He said the country had been witnessing “the step by step escalation of violence against innocent citizens with the Christian and the Church suffering the greatest loss.”

“We also said the killings and bombings were being done according to their plans in order to instil fears with the subsequent aim of eradicating religious freedom, democratic liberties with the church and Christianity as its primary target,” he added.

  1. Wao! What a strategy. should we say Boko haram plan is working, I guess the plan is to make Christians to turn against Jonathan for not been capable to handle the country. this should not be allowed. The president need to come up with extra ordinary ways of taming the menace. As a Muslim which I am, I feel sadden when these Terrorist use religion as cover. More drastic action needs to be taken. May God help us.

  2. @ Suleimon or whatever u called yourself the fact is that islamic religion has already laid the foundation for terrorism as demonstrated by the progenitor of your religion prophet mohammed (saw) fight many battles including battles of ta'if, battles of tabuk and battles of hunayn to mention of few of his numerous bloody battles in the battle of ta'if for example the whole tribe of the people of saqif tribe were all destroyed and their riches looted save for only those that decided to join the muslims, while in the battles of hunayn there were lots of sorrow, tears and blood for the people who refused to join the muslims.it is during one of these battles that he told his followers that 7 virgins are waiting for them in hell should they perish in their devilish acts
Can we now see the reason why the boko harams are commiting all these atrocities they are only imitating their so called holy prophet mohammed the progenitor of the bloody islamic religion, even on his death bed this unholy prophet mohammed gives instructions to his followers to kill the christians, jews and other non muslims can we all now see the reason behind this senseless killings and destruction of life and properties. we can even go back to our history book and see the bloody way lslamic religion was propagated in northern nigeria by otman dan fodio, see my people lets continue to pray not only against the boko harams but against islamic religion as whole because it is an intolerant religion.
