In a failed pursuit for "MR RIGHT" a 36 year old US woman, Nadine Schweigert, who is tired of men recently walked the aisle with herself.
At the wedding ceremony, attended by 40 of her friends, Nadine read her vows: “I, Nadine, promise to enjoy inhabiting my own life and to relish a lifelong love affair with my beautiful self” and presented herself with a ring and invited all guests to “blow kisses to the whole world”.
According to Schweigert, who works at Swanson’s Health and teaches yoga “I have never been happier…I married myself to celebrate the progress I have made in life after being divorced 6years ago.”
Ms Schwigert said she went through a painful time when her two kids chose to live with their father after her divorce.
“I was waiting for someone to come along and make me happy,” she says. “At some point, a friend said, ‘Why do you need someone to marry you to be happy? Marry yourself.’”
When Schweigert first mentioned the idea a year ago, she was discouraged by several female friends who thought it was weird but when the idea resurfaced some months ago she embraced it “It was just one of those things where you get an idea, and you know you just have to do it…and this time my friends backed me up…two friends baked cakes, another friend officiated and many others presented readings.”

ReplyDeleteShe's only want to swallow frustration!.........She can still get someone to marry her o...but no patience.May be,with this unnecessary publicity through her 'Self-Marriage',guys can come around.Is like,she doesn't have money,a guy man from somewhere might have shown up.

ReplyDeleteThis could be symbolic of the fact that she has decided to accept herself. This is wierd indeed but if you look at it maybe in the past she had always believed that having Mr. Right is a source of happiness. Maybe if women thought like this(accepting one's self.I am not referring to marrying one's self like she did) we would have less issues of low self esteem and desperation to get married at all costs. Like it or not... this is a woman who has chosen to live life to the fullest with or without a man.

Na frustration the worry oyibo ppl. Their life is becoming more and more miserable by the day due to strigent rules accompanied with failing economy. Their leaders couldnt sustain the false luxury lifestyle they carved for themselves long ago. Thats why small economic meltdown dey make them kolo. Pls bear with them.
