2001 Miss World, Agbani Darego graduates from New York University



Remember that pretty girl that made Nigeria and Africa proud in 2001?

Former Miss World, Agbani Darego has just  concluded her studies and obtained a degree in Psychology from the prestigious New York University.


Agbani was a student of Computer Science at the University of Port-Hacourt but suspended her studies after she won the Miss World title in 2001.

Recognising the importance of education, she then registered at the University of New York and has been able to strike a balance between her modeling career and schooling.


Agbani has had a successful career in modeling and has become a brand ambassador for L’Oreal, Gentle Touch amongst others.

  3. I can not understand you these reporters, Agbani graduated as what? Isn't that better mentioned than reporting that she left UniPort (studing computer science). Which are you reporting? her graduation or her leaving uniport?

    I don't get you anonymous 6. studying psychology is not a stupid thing. probably she has higher ambitions than you may think.
    i had my first and 2nd degree in accounting while my doctorate was in psychology. I must say that was one of the best decisions i ever made.

    By the way, we are very well paid.

    At anonymous 6, i don't get what you mean. studying psychology is not a stupid thing. Probably she has higher ambitions than you may think.
    I had my 1st and 2nd degree in accounting but my doctorate was in psychology. I must say, being a Dr. in psychology was the best decision i ever made.....

    By the way, we are highly paid.

  14. i think you guys are over reacting on her recent success or probably, you don't get the information of the reporter. isn't it good if you know that she can possibly combine her modeling career with education, most Nigerians thought she has even dump education for modeling. To those of you who think psychology is a dump ass profession, i think you need re-orientation because in the western world, you can not do anything without a psychologist. Not like Nigeria where the profession remains last option for student, here, it's a mandatory in every organization to have chartered psychologist. Step out of your world please and appreciate better things.
