In a YouTube video posted by a Boko Haram member, "Sanni Musa" yesterday (12th April 2012) The Boko Haram sect issued new threats, directed at President Goodluck Jonathan.
The 14-minute video posted to YouTube showed Shekau in a white robe, with gunmen holding Kalashnikov rifles around him. A heavy machine gun leaned against a wall as he spoke first in Arabic and later in the Hausa language of Nigeria's Muslim north.
The message as conveyed by its principal Sheik Abubakar Imam Shekau was mainly in Arabic and Hausa language.
Shekau said President Goodluck
Jonathan would be unable to stop the group's
attacks.
"Jonathan, you the helpless, we heard
that you intend and want to destroy us, but this talk is useless when it is said
by an infidel because only God can destroy us", Shekau said in Arabic. "Until
now, nobody was able to do that (destroy us), and you too will not be able to do
anything, with God's help".
“We are also aware of some Muslims using our name to make money, we will say nothing but let them continue, and they will meet Allah in the last day.
“We are not doing physical human service, but Allah’s work and it is clear your aim is killing us. Let me tell you with Allah we will triumph over you and your men in hundreds. We are not boasting rather keeping quiet and working for Allah.
“Allah that finishes Pharaoh and others wicked rulers that you are not even up to them, will finish you and end your government. We are not afraid because we are not doing man work but Allah’s work. And we will see who will carry the day.”
The video Thursday showed a new
sophistication for the group. Shekau has issued videos via YouTube in the
past, though this one included a Hausa-language song at the beginning about the
sect, saying its members were ready to kill
nonbelievers.
The beginning of the video also showed
a logo of two crossed Kalashnikov rifles around a Quran and a black Islamist
flag. That symbol mirrors one used by al-Qaida in the Islamic Maghreb, a group
that diplomats and officials believe has loose ties with Boko
Haram.
At one point, Shekau even smiles
as he describes the ongoing fighting between Boko Haram and the
government.
"One day you kill 1,000, and then we
turn back, then after two days we kill your own 100", Shekau said. "We're
turning it around like the way it is in the Quran".

ReplyDeleteIf the Federal Govt cannot contain an internal group like the Boko Haram, then the Federal Govt cannot contain an external aggression. It shows that this country cannot be one. Why are some politicians especially those from the South shouting one Nigeria when the Muslims don't want Jonathan, a Southerner to be the President? Is it not clear that Boko Haram is both religious and political? AS FOR JONATHAN he doesn't seem to have the stamina to crush the Boko Haram. Otherwise by now he would have imported some foreign security operatives to come and help crush the demons called boko harams who kill in the name of Satan as their god. On that account: We ordained for the children of Israel that if any one slew a person – unless it be for murder or for spreading mischief in the land- It would be as if He slew the whole people:
