The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, on Sunday said world leaders had failed in their quest to restore global peace and resolve conflicts.
Adeboye made the statement when he was hosted to a day of tributes tagged ‘This Is Your Life’, by interfaith groups from Israel, Korea, Indonesia,Austria, the United Kingdom, United States and Nigeria to mark his 70th birthday anniversary in London.
“It is clear that politicians have failed to solve the problems of conflict and violence all over the world.
“You kill a terrorist today; a dozen others are rising up to take his place,’’ the News Agency of Nigeria quotes Adeboye as saying.
He said religious leaders needed to come together to speak against global violence, including the use of religion to perpetrate evil, in order to achieve peace in the world.
Adeboye said although God had assigned him to preach His word in all the nations, his bigger assignment was to bring religious leaders from across the globe to find lasting solution to violence in the world.
“I believe a bigger part of the assignment is beginning to surface; that is why you can see several people of different faiths gathering here today.
“I believe God wants to use me to bring together religious leaders who will ultimately bring peace to this world,’’ he said.
Adeboye expressed optimism that a global meeting for religious leaders, which was held in June, 2011, at the United Nations to foster dialogue and promote peace, would continue to attain its set objective.
Adeboye said, “Though I said I did not want anyone to celebrate my birthday, I am very grateful for you to come here to honour God because who am I for you to come to honour? I am an ordinary person but I have a God who deserves all the honour.”

It amazes me that our most senior man of God choses to ignore the local problems and sundry malfeasance under his very nose that is being superinteded by his annointed 'son', who knelt before him, in full gaze of the world, whom he then blessed and charged to go and plunder the commonwealth and ride roughshod over the rest of us.
ReplyDeleteDaddy GO, charity begins at home, they say. Please, help us speak truth to power in your (our) country Nigeria instead of this unhelpful platitude. H-e-l-p!!!
He invited all the countries including Nigeria leaders and i believed God will surely help him to achieve his aim for bring peace to the world.
ReplyDeleteDaddy, God bless you for this great vision, you will not fail in Jesus name, amen..

ReplyDeleteWake up, Moses. Stop allowing yourself to be decieved. Are you not a man of God too? It is said that we are created in the image of God. True? Whey then do we stupdily allow other people to appropriate the title 'man of God' to themselves. Stop being a fool. Your man of God flies off in PJ (private jet) to talk to God above, while you wallow in poverty, making do with Okada. Man of God my foot!
