Miss Tolulope Fatokun emerges best student in WAEC and NECO in the country

Miss Tolulope Fatokun, has emerged the best in the last West African Examinations Council and the National Examinations Council in the country. The student of St. Louis Girls Grammar School, Akure, Ondo State  had distinctions (A1) in nine subjects and she already secured admission into Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, to study Law.

The Ondo State Commissioner for Education, Mr. Remi Olatubora, attributed this achievement to the state government’s focus on the education sector.

Olatubora noted that before the Olusegun Mimiko administration came on board, record showed that only 21 per cent of pupils in the state had five credits including English and Mathematics in WAEC/NECO.

He however said the figure had risen to 35 per cent, and that the intention of the government was to achieve 70 per cent before the end of tenure of the administration.

The commissioner also said all mega schools built by the state government had been equipped with first class grade computer facility including audio–visual laboratories that would make pupils to be exposed to physical representation of teaching.

  1. "The Ondo State Commissioner for Education, Mr. Remi Olatubora, attributed this achievement to the state government’s focus on the education sector." Yes, attribute the success to your mediocre self, but completely dissociate yourself from the millions that failed jamb, the general state of Education, thats just normal for government officials, Lying scroundrels

  2. I wonder why she bothered to take NECO since she is this good. Is it mandatory to take both of them? Kudos to her anyway for a job well done.

  4. The story would have been more presentable to read little Miss Tolulope herself comment and attribute her success story to something or someone in particular which will encourage other aspiring pupils to follow suit rather than the government using her achievement as a campaign point. Having said that, I still give kudos to Tolu as well as Mimiko's administration. Congrats!

  6. The story is about miss tolulope having scored distictions in all nine subjects and not mimiko nor the commissioner having helped the said student in achieving this.

I think it would have been most appreciated if the said student had come up to link the state govt assistance to her achievment and not otherwise.I want to believe mimiko's govt would have been most celebrated if we'd had more of tolulope from the state securing distinctions in all subjects.this na the little girl's achievement! biko...

  10. Is this report correct? I am sure this year's WAEC and NECO have not been written. Is this about last year's exams? Try to be accurate in your reports. Kudos to the little miss. Wish you success in your endeavours.

  11. The girl's achievement has absolutely nothing to do with the ineptitude and utter confusion in the State's public education system. It was due to sheer brilliance, hard work and some genetic contribution from her parents.

Nigerian politicians are clowns! How can anyone in his/ her right senses think the public will by this balderdash about the Ondo State Government being responsible for this success.

Just give the poor girl scholarship (and no government official should attempt to take "cuts", "commissions" or "percentages" from it) and thank the girl for bringing a positive light to your state despite your inadequacies.
