Another bomb factory discovered in Kogi state



The Joint Task Force (JTF) in Kogi state has once again discovered another factory in a mountain cave at Esomi village on the Okene-ogori/Mangogo road, used by suspected boko haram members for making explosive devices.


Items said to have been recovered after the raids included 43 fabricated bomb canisters, double barrel gun, gas cylinder and one 1.5 KVA generator.

Also recovered were anti-personnel device, gas cylinder and primary explosives, an iron grinder, remote starters for motorbikes, batteries, canisters, iron cutters, wires, ammonia, gun powder, time bomb devices, super glue, tools, bottles, clamp, welding material, gloves, syringes and needles.

The source said the operation would be sustained.

He added that the security operatives carried out the raids following intelligence reports
According to him, the aim of the the suspected terrorists was to raid all banks in the state.

He said nobody was however arrested in the operations that lasted several hours.
He added that there was no casualty on the side of the security operatives.

“We’ll go after them. In fighting crime, we must keep the criminals on the move. We’ll diminish their capabilities, because they cannot rob banks again,” he said.

He stated that the Federal Government and security agencies were being proactive, to improve security in Kogi State and to avoid the state being used as a base for terrorists and other criminals.

It should be noted that another bomb factory was discovered by JTF last month in kogi state.
