  2. Let the NASS Members show us what they burn.

  3. Thank you for N91,800 discovered. Please help Nigeria for N850,000.00 receipt. What do you say?

  4. if this money was actually spent on 6 guests for a meal, then I do not know why those people called reps are shouting only because she did not give them N5m and N39m. Anybody should go to a chinese restaurant and a meal would cost you in the neighbourhood of N6k, so what do u imagine of the Bukar in Nicon. Funny enough the breakdown is even there. let them face the real issues and leave this N91k. The real money would not be talked about.

  5. This is serious less than 1% of nig. Live in luxury & sqaush the nations resources,
more than 140million nigs. Languish in abject poverty. God help us.

  6. Our legislators should also provide a sample of their typical bill at the same hotel and let us do a comparative analysis.

This is just a case of the pot calling the kettle black.

  7. Ladies and Gentlmen let us not be distracted, this 91K food and drinks was not consumed by this lady alone and she can afford it on her own. Our legislators are very currupt what they are doing now is to repair their damaged image using this lovely lady. Am very happy she is upto the task, more revelations to come.

  8. The truth remains, the house is trying to get to her for being 'uncorporative'. I am aware of where a senator and his entourage took breakfast at the senate for N150,000.

  9. Why is the media so daft going about such trivia issues and leaving the real issues. Its not how much she consumed on food that should be the bone of conrptention but how she runs the sec. However, if we are to investigate how much public officers like the members of the house of reps spend on minor things like food, Ms Oteh's spendings will too insignificant.

  10. Thank God that some Nigerians are still thinking! There's is hope. She actually ate. Not presented fake bills to collect money. Like the rogues probing her do. She is an executive regulating a multi trillion naira industry yet the NASS rogues want us to believe eating in a hotel with official guests is one of the monumental cases of corruption plaguing Nigeria. No interest in how SEC under her has been able to curb widespread securities trading fraud. Only a monkey would allow NASS to lead him by the nose!

  11. And now these bastards are not saying anything about the 1 Billion Naira food budget by the presidency, they are there wasting their time on a N85,000 naira food for a day....you all cant fool us, rather you are the FOOLS

  12. we should all see the need to fight hypocrisy in this country. We live above our means and there is the need for us to collectively fight this problem called corruption.I am of the opinion that if we dont correct it now it may likely consume us all someday.

  13. I see no reason why our govt should not pay 18k for minimum wages while most of them eat more than what this lady eat on daily basis. God will judge you alllllllllll

  14. My question is this"Are they not spending same, if not more than what she spent" in the current budget what is earning of the senators and the representative overheads, our president, his vice and there wives what was budget for there feeding is it not greater than her own,if they want to probe her, they should start first with themselves, then, we know they are doing general cleaning and not sectional cleaning

  15. Oversight function seems to be extended to parastatals who fail to settle them. NASS should show us the Transcorp bill which reads =N=850,000.00. Where they can not, Nigerians should ignore them and forge ahead with the push for Sovereign National Conference for a new Constitution which addresses our basis of togetherness as Nigerians.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I agree with Lizzy and others that members of the national assembly who have had cause to entertain guests at the Nicon should present their receipts for us do comparative analysis. But Nigerians are so gullible. Cheap receipts and "internal" memos of SEC have started flying; planted by those who want to bury DG SEC. I believe, if those memos are not fake, then we need to know how they got into public domain so cheaply... In this country, Mallam El Rufai named senators who demanded for bribe from him to facilitate his clearance as a minister. There were denials and a few mumblings and grumblings here and there, but nothing concrete came out of it...In this country also a minister of Education Prof Fabian Osuji lost his plum job because he was caught dancing to the whims of members of committees on Education of both chambers of the National assembly. The members merely denied, leaving Osuji to carry the can alone. Ask yourself; Why are some committees considered lucrative and membership hotly contested. Oteh spent 30m in 8 months for accommodation. Was she allocated quarter and she failed to move in? How much do the people we "elected" spend on hotels every month on the flimsy excuse of committee assignment.

  17. just look at her innocent look. bros, what are saying? rep or no rep, a woman is supposed to be a home builder and not a home destroyer. just bcos she has the opportunity to be there has given her the opportunity to squander the public money just like that. can she do that if it is her personal money? can a see a boy, girl, man or woman that is dearly in need of just N500.00 meet her for help and she gladly out of human feeling given? can even a less priviledge nigerian get close to the gate of her house for one assistance or other, not to talk of opening the gate for such person? for crying out loud!...hmmm, whatever we sow today we reap tomorrow. good luck to her.

    ReplyDelete
  18. i wonder what the fuss is all about? This woman can definitely afford this N91k food even if she was'nt a SEC boss. I smell that these idle minded National Assembly of Looters simply want to make a mountain out of a mole hill. For crying out loud she was entertaining guests comprising of 6persons and international dignitaries for that matter. Do they expect her to go serve them tuwo shikafi or african salad or ewedu soup wit amala. Let them focus on issues regarding the operations and effectiveness of SEC under her watch and Not what she ate. Maybe next they will start probing what she wears.....

  20. The available breakdown shows that Ms Oteh did not eat the said food of N91,400 alone. There MUST have been at least 7 people from the drinks entery. N91400 by 7 people is an average of N13,057.
How much does it cost to eat at at Nicn luxury for one person. What is the average cost of going to a chinese restaurant for one person?
While i am not in support of frivolities in public expenditures, the reality on ground is that a standard room in Nicon luxury costs N60,000 per day. The Government is aware of it. There are some more expensive hotels in Abuja and all government and private business executive use and pay for these places.
It is obvoius that the people are being misled by this probe panel.
Let us look for things that will improve accountability and not mudane self serving items.
The house of rep should bury its head in shame . they should become SERIOUS and do only the rightful.
    Thanks

  21. @Austine, I am on your side. But have you not noticed a trend where public office holders in Nigeria dip into the public purse to shower on themselves what they cannot smell of enjoy in million years.

I recently saw the CV of one 3-term serving member of our state assemblies and noticed a vast change in his education experience and training. You would guess right: Harvard, etc. This was soneone who got into the House with a degree in one obscure Uni in one of those pre Yeltsin East European countries. I also saw him decked in a Rolex wrist watch.

One passing shot: I was at a social function last December and sat on the same table with the ex CEO of a new generation bank. He was asked what he wanted to drink and told what was available, including choice champagne. The gentleman declined the offer of chamgne, saying there is no point in him drinking something he doesn't consume in his house.

That is what I call contentment and good breeding. Not the bunch of pretentious upstarts that have littered and messed our landscape.

  22. The bill did not mention six guests to start with, and who are these people? Let her name them. 30million for accommodation in 8 months is over the top. Corruption is the cause of all our problems in naija, name it: no light, bad roads, boko haram ND boys. It will eventually destroy the nation. Watch out.

  23. She even tried for able to provide the receipt.

  24. This is how they burn the money, my intercontinental bank share of 3000 unit is now 107 unit, God dey.

  25. I fail to understand why there are so many defenders of this woman. Someone even called her 'innocent looking' and so on. When millions are stolen, Nigerians seem not bat an eyelid simply because some other people steal also. I suggest we deal with whichever one we see as strictly as we can. No public officer has a right to spend so much of government funds on luxury hotels. Nicon says in its adverts "Come, let us spoil you a little". We don't want our office holders spoiled. She is not on a holiday. Someone even says that she can afford it. I wish this were so - that she paid for it from her resources. Nigeria should not be burdened with wasteful officials like her. If what she did is usual, we should demand a change for more frugality in the use of public funds. They are there to serve, not to be served. Let's put a stop to this wastefulness by giving a limit to how much can be spent by public officers. For the guy that pointed out that presides over so much money, this does not give her, or any official, licence to spend as much as you want. Let us censure as many as we catch wasting our money. People do not entertain guests at the most expensive restaurants. Only a few corporate bodies would do that - with a ceiling on how much they can spend.

    ReplyDelete
  26. he who must come to equity must come with a clean hands, with the kind of work she does she deserve to eat more then that let the reps show us how much they spent in a day.

  29. some sounds so great in analysing this argument and some think stupidly as well, if for God sake someone mentioned her not helping poor people and someone mentioned been greedy, spending less than N100,000 to host guest, in all honest if you read well gone to school and got or established a fantastic business how much is N200,000 to host your guest, she had been well paid all her life time, she's never been a politician and she was bold to come out and voice out the atrocities of the hembe & co, that's a plus to her integrity.
Ndidi was in that office for years and nobody ever accused her up till now for misdeed except for some fallacies of efcc threat, people of nigeria more to say, but less time to write...,wish you all goodluck.

  30. I have read most of the comments and my logical advice is that Federal government should be serious about how public officials spend tax payers' money! If Trancorp, Abuja is to expensive, our officials should move to a more cheaper hotels. Better still, guest houses should be build to reduce cost. In passing, a thorough investigation of the NASS should be conducted and those currupt officials should be punished.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Is it her fault or the hotel? Do you think the bill goes to her pocket? Is her entitlement. Query the budget.

  33. I agree 100% with Lizzy and Austine. But you guys should get your tissue papers ready when you see what the NASS members spend in one day. Cos I guarantee that you would weep buckets on the spot.

What one member spends in one day is enough to make more than five families happy in a month if not more.

Their frivolous lifestyle is a big shame!!

  34. Maureen is saying....This woman should be left alone, why are they being apprehensive over nothing, let them show us what NASS spend everyday for just a meal.ms oteh can afford this bill alone, why make so much noise when the country is corrupt.please leave her alone.

  36. D entire system is detrimentally corrupt. D natñ is in d state of intellectual deceptñ. In as much as am asking d NASS 2 pursue d real substance and 4get about d flogging d dead horse does not necessarily mean that our public office holders should squander d public funds in d name of one consequential or inconsequential matter. D fed govt is always crying 4 money, yet gives extra jumbo allocation 2 ministries and parastatals and there's no transparency and accountability in their daily financial transactñs. Just a minute fee f N18,000 minimum wage, d fed govt sees it as 'mission impossible'. 9ja is long over due to start paying workers at least N50,000 minimum wage. 'monkey dey work baboon dey chop'. D loafers in Nass and other top govt workers smile home monthly with extra large 'ecolac bag' in d name f salary yet those working cry home monthly. Rubbing Peter 2 pay Paul, a replica f labour exploitatñ. Until a spade is calld is spade, we can never get it right.

THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY MEMBERS SHOULD REVEAL THEIR OWN FEEDING EXPENSES, ETC. IT WILL BOGGLE OUR MINDS.

  38. She said she entertained people, right?
Why the crucifixion? Why the hullabaloo? Was she the one that drank star and chapman? She doesn't look like who will drink star or chapman.
I remember chapman from those yore days. Is it not the drink our fore-fathers use to rinse their mouth every morning in the village?
Do we expect the lovely lady to drink that? Gimme a break!
Maybe, she entertained people from her village or constituency, which is normal.
    She did no harm.
Let him that thinks he is not guilty from NASS first cast a stone.
Madam Oteh, pls try to remember the hungry poor, who has nothing to eat. Maybe a leftover from that sumptuous meal will save some lives.

Things have decayed so badly that some stupid (sorry) and ignorant Nigerians are justifying this act of financial recklessness. Even if the so called reps do it does that justify it were will we then expect sanitation to come from. How can a public office holder who's on salary entertain her personal guest at govt expense why don't she bring her entire family and friends and entertain them daily at govt expense or even lodge them at Nicon Hilton at the Govt expense. Why cant we learn what is bad is bad whether done by a man or woman let's stand up for truth and root out any similitude of corruption it is called abuse of office
