Reports reaching us from Yola, the  Adamawa State capital, say some youth in the city have taken to the street to protest the killing of a secondary school student by some policemen attached to Damare police station in the town.

A resident of the town said the principal of Government Day Secondary School, Damare,  caught the student with illegal drugs and handed him over to the police.

However, the police later arrived the family compound of the student and deposited his corpse before driving away, which prompted the youth in the area to pick the corpse in a casket and marched to the palace of the Lamido of Adamawa to lodge a complaint.

Eyewitnesses also say the youth became agitated and stormed the police station only to find the place deserted as all the police officers there, fearing attacks, had fled.

When contacted, the spokesperson of the Adamawa command of the Nigeria police, Altine Daniel, said, "I am not aware of this story. We will keep you posted."
