Nigerian school wins UNICEF competition

A private secondary school, Rainbow College, has emerged the best in Africa and third in the world in an online spelling, mathematics and science competition organised by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
Pupils of Rainbow College in Magba, Ogun State, participated in the UNICEF World Education Games between March 5 and 8.
They were among the 1.75 million pupils who competed in the 14 –18 year olds’ category at three levels worldwide.
The result, published mid March, placed the school tops in Africa and third in the world.
Rainbow College and second-placed Portrex Technical High School, South Africa were the only two African secondary schools among the top 50 in the competition.
On the world stage, Campaka Schools, Malaysia came first, St Patrick’s School, Dominican Republic, came second, while Rainbow College came third.

ReplyDeleteAny contest where Malaysian and Dominican students are coming first as opposed to Chinese, Indian, Japanese, German or America students is suspicious and most likely not that credible so I wouldn't put much credit into this
