Nigerian "Pregnant" Woman, Afolake Awoyemi, 42, Delivered $20,000 Worth Of Heroin At JFK Airport, New York

A Nigerian woman Afolake Awoyemi, 42, who claimed she was three months pregnant ‘gave birth’ at JFK Airport in New York – to 'a stash of heroin'. Awoyemi caught the attention of a U.S. Customs and Border Protection inspector as she waddled off an Air France flight from Paris.
The 42-year-old, wearing a loose-fitting garment, was asked if she was pregnant, and she allegedly replied that she was expecting, Homeland Security special agent John Moloney stated in a complaint filed in Brooklyn Federal Court.

During the search a bulge was allegedly found in Awoyemi’s groin area and so officers went ahead with a partial strip-search. When she removed her undergarments, pellets containing brown powder allegedly began to drop from her groin area, which were later tested positive for heroin.

She was then taken for X-rays, which revealed Awoyemi had more heroin pellets stashed in her intestinal tract, officers claim. She allegedly passed about 25 pellets of heroin by the end of the day, using a special high-tech commode that sanitises the incriminating evidence, which customs officials refer to as the ‘Drug Loo’.
Awoyemi was also administered a pregnancy test, which revealed she is not expecting.

Awoyemi, who was recovering in hospital, is due to be brought before a federal magistrate today.
The drugs she was alleged to have been harbouring could have a street-value of around $20,000. While she had apparently swallowed just 25, experienced drug mules have been known to swallow up to 200 pellets, which a spokesman suggested indicates Awoyemi may have been on her maiden voyage.
