The Federal Government of Nigeria has declared April 6 and 9 as public holidays to mark this year’s Easter celebrations.
Minister of Interior Abba Moro, who announced this yesterday in Abuja on behalf of President Goodluck Jonathan, said the holidays are in line with the Christian Calendar and tradition which recognises Friday April 6 and Monday April 9 as “Good Friday” and “Easter Monday” respectively.
Moro called on all Christians and Nigerians to pray fervently for enduring peace, unity and progress of the country.
