YOUTHS in Idheze community, Isoko South Local Government Area, Delta State, yesterday, issued a two-week ultimatum to Nigeria Agip Oil Company, NAOC, to meet their demands or risk the shutting down of its facilities in the community.
Addressing newsmen on the operations of NAOC in their community, the Youth President, Mr. Godspower Oregbor, lamented that the company was yet to employ any indigene of the community either as a direct or contract staff in the last four years.
Noting that oil wells in the community were among those serving the Irri flow station, Oregbor said, “we don’t have an indigene of Idheze as a labour or servicing contractor to the company. Over the past four years, we had several meetings with NAOC in Port Harcourt and they have been making unfulfilled promises.”
